A good map of a mountain range

I'm taking my PCs to a mountain range in my home brewed world. The trouble is, I'm not that good at maps and I'm from Iowa, so I'm having very little success drawing out the region. Are there any good examples of mountainous terrain out there that I could use for inspiration? Anyone have any hints?

Post your picture! [Warning: big file sizes, might be unpleasant on slow connections]

Mark Twain once said: "If a man tries to look serious when he sits for his picture the photograph makes him look as solemn as an owl; if he smiles, the photograph smirks repulsively; if he tries to look pleasant, the photograph looks silly; if he makes the fatal mistake of attempting to seem...

    Kercpa

What are its stat adjustments? +4 Str -4 Dex? How has the tiny size effected game play? Do you think that the Dex bonus is too much? Finally, does your version have an ECL?

    Kercpa

Yeah, the Kercpa are great. Thanks for the feedback. Making them small eliminates a lot of headaches, so I think that I'll use that. It makes them a little bigger than I originally envisioned them, but 2 ft is really not THAT different from 1 ft. I really like the idea of the ability to move...

Hrmmm? What would you suggest then? Is the problem, in your opinion, the +4 Dex?

I wholeheartedly recommend this book to anyone even remotely interested wild magic. For about $5, what have you got to lose?

    Kercpa

For those who don't know, the Kercpa are a race of 1ft. tall Squirrel people the originally appeared in Dragon Magazine. I have interest in making them a playable race in my 3E homebrewed world. My goal is to avoid an ECL. So, here's what I have thus far: -------------------------------------...

Anyone worked out a decent morale system?

Anyone? I'm glad the rules aren't included in as part of each creature's description, as this should usually be up to the DM based on the circumstances. However, for random encounters and the like it would sometimes be nice to have a simple and elegant morale system. My first thought would be...

    Using Chainmail with D&D?

I wholeheartedly suggest you to actually play the game. I LOVE Chainmail. I have Warhammer. 'nuff said.

    Using Chainmail with D&D?

Chainmail is not really a useful tool for D&D. As it currently stands, it isn't meant to be a set of rules to simulate skirmish combat in D&D. The character stats included with the game are fairly weak by most campaign standards. They are all about 1-3 CR creatures. If your PCs are of mid to...

Help me get a feel for the Scarred Lands setting?

Another small point: Most D&D worlds have a major cataclsym between the gods sometime in their ancient past. In the case of the Scarred Lands, the even took place in fairly recent history. The result is a world with both a very high magic and post apocolyptic feel. Drew PS: Pirate Cat's...

[Kind of OT] Internet Prevention of Filesharing

Have you considered a curse? I'd suggest the following: "Debt will come on swift wings to him who distributes illegaly this PDF thing." Or some varient thereof. If that fails you could make sure your product really sucks. That should quell filesharing fairly effectively.

Anyone else HATE the 3E stat block?

No, there is not a mandated Stat block. Creating a universal stat block for all d20 publishers to use is exactly what we were trying to do with the Quest for the One True Stat Block that went on here on the ENWorld Boards. For the fruits of that labor, please check out the following...
