[FR] Could there be Peace between Dalesmen and the Drow? (my players stay out!)

Yeah... for some time I have been thinking about Sembia's role in all this. I think that strife between the Dalesmen, the drow, and the elves would be to their benefit. A long term political gamble that might be to their benefit would be the following... Support in what ways they can the peace...

[FR] Could there be Peace between Dalesmen and the Drow? (my players stay out!)

Yeah, I agree that I don't see the elves agreeing to the treaty except in the most dire of circumstances. Unfortunately the elves aren't really a power in the Cormanthor anymore... their rights are more of a token then a reality it would seem. The Dalesmen will likely deal with whomever is...

[FR] Could there be Peace between Dalesmen and the Drow? (my players stay out!)

Well, if you were a player in my campaign you'd know that the House Jaelre drow had actually helped you a bit in the past (as noted on the first post). So, I'd be somewhat surprised if you suddenly turned around and attacked them without direct provication.

[FR] Could there be Peace between Dalesmen and the Drow? (my players stay out!)

Some of you are saying that neither the Dalesmen nor the elves would come to some sort of peace treaty with the drow of House Jaelre, but aren't giving any concrete reasons other then "but they're drow!" or "they aren't trustworthy". Everyday (in the current FR timeline), people in the Dales...

The horrors of constant True Seeing...

I was aware of the fact that to see the ethereal you have to focus on it. I thought it was also quite well known that mundane disguises aren't pierced, only magical ones. What's the issue? I think you might be looking for problems or issues that aren't present. Anyway, as I recall in previous...

The horrors of constant True Seeing...

Great ideas guys, I particularly like the brothel with all the invisible patrons waiting to come in, hehe. Takyris, I think that in 3.5 they got rid of the additional powers of the clerical version of True Seeing. Personally, I liked it, but oh well...

The horrors of constant True Seeing...

(My players stay out :p) One of my players has just picked up the continuous True Seeing ability from Vow of Poverty and my evil DM mind is at work... I'd like to show that there is a price to pay for seeing "behind the curtain". And have all kinds of odd and bizzarre encounters happen or be...

    The Suggestion spell

I had a similar situation come up recently... our group were inmates in a prison, and a caster used Suggestion on one of the party members that was being seperated from the group. The caster cast Suggestions and commanded her to follow the orders of the jailer, with a "Do whatever he tells you...

[FR] Could there be Peace between Dalesmen and the Drow? (my players stay out!)

(My players: stay out you slackers! :p) In my Forgotten Realms campaign, the party has some influential contacts within several Dales communities, the remaining elves of the Cormanthor, and the drow of House Jaelre (both having a common enemy in a rather aggressive cell of the Cult of the...

    Karmic Strike: Undefeatable.......?

Ahh... yet another of many reasons never to buy the Miniatures Handbook. Seems everytime I hear of some overpowered spell or ability, it's from there.

    Karmic Strike: Undefeatable.......?

Ok... so where does Sidestep come from? I'm just tying to find out where the feat that lets you take a 5' step after an AoO comes from.

    Karmic Strike: Undefeatable.......?

So which book does your Deft Opportunist come from? P.S.: Just checked Complete Adventurer, the +4 to AoO's is called Deft Opportunist. Deft Strike is another feat altogether (also in CA) which involves a spot check to find a weakness in someone's AC.

    Karmic Strike: Undefeatable.......?

I thought Deft Opportunist only gave you a +4 to hit on AoO's and that's it. From Complete Adventurer, right?

I'm lacking in creativity... could use an idea or two. (My players stay out!)

Great idea Philreed! My players are 17th level, 6 characters.

I'm lacking in creativity... could use an idea or two. (My players stay out!)

Player's from Arravis' campaign, the Falling Leaves, STAY OUT! Do NOT read this! . . . . . . . . . . Ok for the rest of you :)... I need help with tonight's game... I've been thinking about this since yesterday, but I haven't come up with much that's very cool. The Forgotten Realms campaign...

Huge donkey ears on elves, halflings, etc...

Some interesting ideas. I had always assumed that it was the influence of "furry" anime (where it seems extremely prevalent) on mainstream anime. Because of the anime explosion in the US, that influence has made it's way here. I suspect the popularity of drawing in that style is because anime...

Huge donkey ears on elves, halflings, etc...

I've noticed that many artists choose to put massive ears on elves and such. Any reason for this? Neither in any of the D&D rule books I've read, nor the hundreds of fantasy novels (classics and not) over the years, have I ever seen them described this way. Yet, illustrating the ears in that...

    Please critique my latest work

I particularly like the one with the tapered in top, there's a nice subtlety to the way you've blended the blue on the white ceramic. How much of that is on purpose, how much of that is the luck of the firing?

My last gaming session made me uncomfortable...

To answer, I think what bothered me most is that I've never said anything so masogynistic in my life with women present. It's one thing kidding around with the guys, most of that kind of talk is meaningless. But, having the subject there with you... that gives it a very powerful impact. It would...

My last gaming session made me uncomfortable...

Hey... I like Stanley Kubrick's work, but I'm not "rather fond" of A Clockwork Orange. It's just one of those seminal movie experiences, it should be watched at least once. It's on the list with Blue Velvet, Naked Lunch, etc... not exactly "good", just something that should be seen. So... :p
