Elven Navy Delta Squad: Thought Taker

Light! Light, blossoming all around you. The rock walls glow with a cold, harsh light. The Outpost surges around you with a sudden jolt. Amanu is thrown off balance and bounces into the wall of the chamber (2 damage). A blast of air from one of the tunnels knocks Chjargal into the...

    The Banewarrens: Allies and Enemies

Degar, the dwarf, glances in the treasure room and replies, "I'd just as soon take my life and freedom and call it a day." He sticks close to Malikar. Thariad, the half-elf, follows without comment. He is still lost in his own thoughts. Morden and Nicalon wait a moment to make sure Krug is...

    If Thoughts Could Kill

Verra detects a faint magic aura in the room, of the transmutation school. Based on the location and size of the aura, he suspects it represents the well rather than the mist.

Elven Navy Delta Squad: Thought Taker

Hanging in space just beyond each of the three points is a tiny, glinting speck of metal. Akodo's sense of wonder grows. He thinks that if his eyesight were acute enough he might make out trilateral symmetry in the speck. And - if he could see things that infinitesimally small - would he be...

[OOC] Elven Navy Delta Squad (Spelljammer)

Thanks, Kajamba. I did. We visited four states and one province. It's good to be home, though.

    Star Wars - Rebellion

Oraltor seems more and more disturbed as the recent events sink in. First the singer's condition, then the report about the destruction of the Celestial. Reality is striking home to the Ithorian entertainer in an unpleasant way. Hoisting the blaster rifle, he responds to Izon, "I have no...

    If Thoughts Could Kill

I'm back! Despite her comments about non-aligned traps and guardians, Qataria detects evil throughout the mist-filled chamber ahead.

    The Banewarrens: Allies and Enemies

After Malikar has rendered the poor guard unconscious again, he and Morden escort the two released prisoners out of the prison area. Krug quickly grabs several handfuls of gold coins (50 gp). Nicalon speaks up from behind the dwarf, "While I understand the urge to inflict some financial harm...

Elven Navy Delta Squad: Thought Taker

Thanks, mirthcard. Out of curiousity, does everyone here subscribe to game threads or do you watch the forums for updates? Thought Taker examines the artifacts momentarily, then gestures to the tunnel opposite the entrance. It leads towards the center of the asteroid. With the mind flayer in...

[OOC] Elven Navy Delta Squad (Spelljammer)

Doh! I left the module at home, so I'm afraid the game is on hiatus until August. Have a good summer, y'all.

    Star Wars - Rebellion (OOC)

Oraltor will take another level of Noble. I don't have access to my rulebook for the next three weeks. Would someone tell me what are the net changes for the second level of Noble? P.S. I'm on vacation, so my responses to the game may be irregular.

    [Malhavoc] cry havoc!

Cry Havoc Review: 5/5 (Superb) I can't seem to post this in the review area yet (perhaps because it still lists Cry Havoc as unavailable), but I'll move it over there when I can. -------------------------------------- Cry Havoc is an excellent value for DM's and players who have been waiting...

    [Malhavoc] cry havoc!

Correcting myself. There are about nine pages on terrain (I remember it was a lot). The unit combat rules take up 96 pages (including 27 pages on battlefield magic). The remainder of the book (adventure ideas, prestige classes, army combat rules) is 36 pages.

    Cry Havoc

Cry Havoc is an excellent value for DM's and players who have been waiting to send their campaigns and characters to war. Although it is marketed as the Malhavoc's third event book, Cry Havoc goes beyond its predecessors by presenting detailed yet accessible systems for unit combat and army...

    [Malhavoc] cry havoc!

Then you would probably enjoy the army battle system portion of Cry Havoc instead of the unit battle system. The army battle chapter allows you to resolve battles with a series of dice rolls, while taking player actions and tactical choices into account. There are three levels for different...

    [Malhavoc] cry havoc!

I am not an experience wargamer (just a little Warhammer Fantasy ten years ago), so I can't answer the first part of your question directly. The unit battle system is an abstraction (units are represented by individual counters) and battles are conducted on 1 inch grids, so it gives less...

    [Malhavoc] cry havoc!

It's $10 now (special release sale), a great value for 132 pages of material.

    [Malhavoc] cry havoc!

Yes, the fact that many attacks will average out is covered by the attack tables (3-3). Comparing a unit's attack roll against another unit's defense roll results in a certain number of hits depending the difference between the two numbers. Units are unlikely to completely miss or completely...
