D&D Next Chat Transcript (Mike Mearls & Jeremy Crawford)

I'm not sure if you're ignoring what others and myself have said, or if you just want to argue. Character creation playtesting will surely come in the future. It is not, however, crucial at this point. The game is in it's infancy. It is no where near publication and WotC is doing everything it...

D&D Next Chat Transcript (Mike Mearls & Jeremy Crawford)

I disagree. The core mechanic of the game needs to be hammered out. The foundation of a game system needs to be exercised rigorously. I can't think of a better way than an open playtest. Character creation will be changed vastly by the feedback they get on the system. Then, in later rounds, I...

    Heroic Threats: A D&D Kickstarter

Nothing in 4e (official) has Resist X Untyped. There's nothing wrong with this--it just doesn't exist in an official capacity. It gives the creature a hardened defense against anything but elemental-type damage, which can be cool.

I think you have a misconception on what they're actually trying to do.

    Heroic Threats: A D&D Kickstarter

Well, that's partically true. My good buddy (and attorney) covers this in a series of articles on Loremaster. It's worth the read. It's actually not too difficult to do a monster book, stat blocks included. Companies such as Open Design do it as well, without subscribing to the GSL. Loremaster...

Have you heard about the "Pathfinder Online Technology Demo" Kickstarter?

It mitigates risk to Paizo, which is a good thing. Goblinworks can rise and fall on it's own merits. I'm not investing in it, but I am looking forward to the demo. As I said, I need to see what's going to make this any different than the other slew of MMOs. Personally, I like cool sub-systems...

Have you heard about the "Pathfinder Online Technology Demo" Kickstarter?

$50k doesn't mean this is what's needed. If they ask for more and the goal isn't reached, they get $0. I'm not inspired by yet another MMO, but I fully understand their minimum goal. Last year, I funded a documentary with a minimum of $5k. Once you reach the goal, you can press forward with...

    Into the Unknown

Good review. Thanks for putting it up. When I designed the scrolls, though, I wasn't aware of D&D Next. The infamous dungeons are a good look-back at some of the cooler dungeons in the history of D&D. It seemed appropriate for the book, as I recall, as we started writing it.

    WotC yanks the rug out

Stinks that you won't get them in time for your pal's birthday. Still doesn't change the intent of my post in response to the OP.

    WotC yanks the rug out

Some people look for anything they can to trash WotC. Did this really bother you? Was your 1e game hinging on this release? :p

Excellent battle reports. It's great to see the senario in action with those consuming it. :)
