The conversions I've seen so far are basically just conversation notes for adventures (not the whole adventure, which is a no no). People have been posting a few in the conversion forum as an attachment. At this point, it is pretty much shoot from the hip. Perhaps someone can offer more guidance.

What should we expect from a 'challenging' encounter (assuming no CR is greater than party level and PC are not outnumbered)? Is it likely that one or more PCs will die in this encounter? In order words, what type of encounter should be the most commonly used? Thanks.

Very true. This adventure is also heavy on the fluff and easy to tweak if desired. I can't wait to run it (again).

I like both too. I own a Galaxy Note Pro (which is a 12 inch tablet). I also have an 8 inch Galaxy Tab 8.0 for consuming novels and other media. I also have an old Kindle Touch that I'll read if I'm out in the sun. So basically, I have more money than I have sense :hmm: Even with all that...

I'm in on the Kickstarter too, and my hunch is that you are correct. The more third party, the better I think it will be for 5e adoption.

The Basic Rules do mention the Mindflayers and psychic damage, so the roots are in place.

A quick fix for these monsters: Add 1 AC, Add 1 damage, Increase HP by 50%

Are monsters the 'secret sauce' of D&D 5? Is there some kind of underlying formula or is it more of an art form? Is there a conversion guide for using monster from old editions or perhaps even Pathfinder? Is there a way to 'fix' the playtest adventure's monsters to be more in line with PC...
