Not a matter of titillation, it's simply dumb and ugly art.

I kinda like the "gnome's" breathless giddy joy at being a monster, with all that entails ("I have a lair!"), but the "gnome" look...not so much. I'm more of a Miracle Max or Engywook fan. The tiefling - sexy enough but that personality - ugh, just...ugh.

Some dinosaurs had fine hairlike feathers (in addition to regular feathers). I am still against boobs for dragonborn, though. :)

IIRC the art in the 1e Fiend Folio made them appear catlike (with round teddy-bear ears!), so close enough, I guess.
