That was my thought too, but they don't have to use a datestamp if they don't want people sniffing around looking for it early. If you look at all of the links here: Dungeons & Dragons Roleplaying Game Official Home Page - Archive You'll see that some of them use names instead of dates.

I was able to get someone affiliated with WotC to acknowledge the question about Class Compendium and MME on Twitter; hopefully someone will say something in an official capacity soon.
