D&D 3E/3.5 Rules intrinsically related to the 3ed round

Your "AoO pool" would refresh twice as often (as would things like Power Attack and Expertise limitations). - - - - - - What is yoru motivation for wanting to do this? Is it the simplicity of a player being able to do a single thing for their turn? (ie. "move" or "make one attack" or "cast a...

So You've Turned Some Undead -- Now What?

I have a house rule that any cowering creature can act to preserve its own "life". They are cowering because they are in a divine-inspired terror - but real, actual destruction just has to be more frightening than any imagined fate. Besides, it's really dull to run combats against cowering foes...

    d20 Game Mechanics Help?

One rather confusing thing to note is that the specific rules for character generation are "closed content". That means, in general, that you are not allowed to reproduce them in other works and still call them "d20". I believe the Wizards did this so that people will still need to buy the...

    Space Ship Deck Plans

That is pretty darn nice, especially for a first attempt! While we're on the subject, here's a ship I did for my d20 StarWars game. Right now I'm working on a couple of original designs in the same style (3D MAX models and Photoshop interiors). Are .png files hard to read with the...

    Gamma World: Beyond the Horizon

That does sound interesting - esp. if it works with the d20 Apoc stuff coming out next year (which it should, being d20 and all).

    M&M Superlink (What's worth buying?)

For a real, honest-to-goodness hard cover book, check out The Algernon Files. It's a compedium of heroes and villains with some extra rules, maps, and such thrown in. Lots of examples on the website: Product descriptions: http://www.blackwyrm.com/Products.htm Samples and free extra material...

    {MAP} Gnomish Homeland

I was practicing some new techniques and figured I'd toss this up in case someone needed a fantasy island ("the plane, the plane"). No, not that fantasy island - this one is where the gnomes come from in my homebrew world. (click for the Big Picture) ------------------------ There are more...

    Uses for the Profession skill(s)

In my experience, Proffession skills usually come up when the player proactively seeks to apply them. In other words, the burden is on the player to let the DM know when he thinks they should apply. If you want to do something, or know something, that a mercenary captain should be profficient...

It's pretty close: amalgam: a combination of diverse elements; a mixture.

PC at -8 HP. What does "stabilizing" actually look like?

There isn't anything conrete in the rules about it - so its up to the GM. Personally, I'd allow it for free. Bleeding, unconcious, and dead can look different so when it counts why not assume that they do? (unless, of course it makes a better story for it to be obscure:) )

    Seeking advice using illusions effectively

Just to clarify on the illusionary fog, you cast it and tell your folks (beforehand) that it is fake. Hopefully then, they can see through it. The bad guys, failing their save, cannot. My main bit of advice is just to be clear on what you can create. Silent Image says: "A creature breaking...

Wierd, I use it all the time and think it is extremely valuable. I guess I find myself needing to move (or draw my bow, or stand up, etc. etc.) more than most people.

Freebie power armor rules for d20 future [AAP]

Thanks for taking the time to post this. I appreciate the effort and it's good to see folks sharing d20 material. Even if people disagree, at least we're talking about it. In the end, the we'll all benefit from it (and though I don't exactly need powered armor at the moment, I'll certainly yoink...

Long Time Gamma World fans - is the d20 game worth it?

IMO, d20 Gamma World is nice - but as it's own game, not as a child of the previous versions. It covers interesting material, but just doesn't bring out the feel that the old version did. Also, I think it tries to cover too much; like it's trying to cover all the bases and not going into...

    Gun-Fu feat (dungeon98/poly 157) - How does it work?

Makes sense. There isn't any text in there about avoiding AoO's like with spring attack but I guess if you are shooting, then there's not a whole lot of reason to be adjacent anyway. To summarize though, this is basically Shot on the Run with a 15ft movement bonus if you make a Tumble(20) check.

Feat for using reach weapon up close?

I use a glaive and would like to be able to strike people adjacent to me as well. Are there any feats out there that allow this? If not, would it be balanced to make a custom feat to accomplish this (allow a reach weapon to be used on adjacent targets ala the spiked chain)?
