D&D 5E Converting GDQ into Forgotten Realms

Good to know. With the need to attune most powerful items and a limit of 3 per PC the accumulation of items shouldn't be the issue it's been in previous editions. If they are unable to flood the market with common items then it won't cause an economic imbalance in the campaign.

D&D 5E Converting GDQ into Forgotten Realms

http://forgottenrealms.wikia.com/wiki/Category:Dwarven_locations might be just the resource you need on Dwarven cities of the Realms. Some have more information than others (its a wiki so that's normal). If all else fails take a map or idea and reskin in with a new name. Unless you tell your...

D&D 5E Converting GDQ into Forgotten Realms

The A series can be squished about anywhere (use Skullport below Waterdeep for A1 and it gives the PCs a reason to have travelled there) in the Sword Coast area. A2 can be dropped anywhere there's a road. A3 gets a bit more tricky with the need for a city but you can always use someplace off...

    D&D 5E Creating a Lost/Ruined City

I1 Dwellers of the forbidden city is a good start to get some ideas. Take a look at some of the destruction caused during WW2 to get an idea of what we gets left behind from widespread destruction...

D&D 5E Converting GDQ into Forgotten Realms

Spine of the world (more specifically the Silver Marches) would be a good starting point. Given the different types of geography/temperature changes needed it can be difficult to tie the adventure sites together coherently unless you really spread it out across the realms (quite possible given...

    D&D 5E 5E DMG question

They were able to come up with a site for each of the other Elemental Planes so they felt like they had to put something to visit on the Elemental Plane of Water...doesn't seem like a good reason but it's only my opinion after all :) The Isle of Dread can be anywhere you want it to be.

    D&D 5E A Red and Pleasant Land (5e hack)

Reskinning the creatures in the land of Unreason should vary with the level of play at your table IMO. For mid or low level characters that would put the King/Queen somewhere around Adult Dragon for lethality and the pawns equating to zombies...annoying but in large groups, deadly. The...

D&D 5E A Red and Pleasant Land - has anyone started on a conversion to 5E?

Thankfully the PDF came with the book so I can start digging into the goodness right away. The tables are amazing (items found like 3.5 liters of glue, lol). I think I will be sticking with the demi plane idea for the setting as it will make a great break from a typical fantasy game or even a...

D&D 5E A Red and Pleasant Land - has anyone started on a conversion to 5E?

A Red and Pleasant Land: Format – Hardcover (with digital copy) or PDF http://www.lotfp.com/store/index.php?route=common/home In a word – Evocative. Zak S. has taken the rule of writing to the common denominator and thrown it out the window. This is an RPG book written for adults (or at...

For those of you who haven't been exposed to this book yet, do it now.

D&D 5E A running list of questions from a new player/new DM. Other n00bs please feel free to add in.

Sneak Attack - either have advantage or the have an ally within 5' of the target (usually referred to as flanking). How you gain advantage is up for debate (attacking from hiding (stealth) being the most common but if your target is "blinded" or "stunned" you would also have advantage IIRC)...

D&D 5E 5E has brought this old gmaer back to D&D after 8 years!

Started with B/X and 1EAD&D to create a working hybrid that was fast and easy to play. I started moving and lost my game group during the transition to 2E and only dabbled in 3, 3.5, and 4E. 5th seems to have hit the sweet spot and now all I need to do is find a group to spend some time with...

D&D 5E 5th edition Forgotten Realms: Why can't you just ignore the lore?

Each edition has had a FR sourcebook of some sort (some better, some worse). Every time they print one they run the risk of pushing away the core audience due to changes that are made in the guide. 4E FR guide is a great example of how things can take a turn for the worse when they had (what I...

CODENAME: MORNINGSTAR Kickstarter Launched - and it's for PATHFINDER!

Sad that it's only Pathfinder. I was ready to pay at Gen Con for a 5E version after seeing the iOS version but I just don't have use for this system. It'd be nice to see 5E supported in the future and I would be happy to revisit this again once that happens.

D&D 5E Evil parties that don't fall apart: ideas, suggestions, experiences?

Evil for the sake of being evil or evil because that's the only way they can survive? Binding them tightly to each other will allow them to avoid in fighting but if all they want to do is wipe out villagers they'll be living in a cave somewhere pretty soon when the whole world is after them...

    D&D 5E My first 5E Game

Nog sounds like a riot! Being flexible enough to do something like this is one of the reasons I love RPGs. If you want to be a robot ninja cat girl I don't care, lol. If it gets someone engaged with the game they can play anything they want. The collected pets for sale was a brilliant touch :)

    D&D 5E Player's Handbook page quality

Flat (both PHB and HotDQ). HotDQ paper is much heavier which I like.
