What are your thoughts on ANIME's influence on D&D?

Quoted for truth. I read alot more then I watch TV or movies. From Ray to Edgar, William to Homer, Books have far more inflused my design then anything on the tube. True. Much like you would hire a clown for a 6 year old's birthday party and not a 21st. [qoute]You know that image of Superman...

What are your thoughts on ANIME's influence on D&D?

Ah...Much better. :p I like any anime that has the same basic set up as Highlander. Plot, Drama, Action, Drama, plot. ---Rusty

What are your thoughts on ANIME's influence on D&D?

Ya know, saying that anime is a single genre is like saying there is no difference between Dr. Zuess and R.A. Salvador. A lot of 'Main Stream Anime' is targeted for 13-15 year old. The very few animes I like would be considered 'Deep Imersive role playing' if played as a d20 game. Shows such...

What is your definition of Railroading?

I hate my players. They metagame the assumption that every lead I drop is vital to the storyline, go long with it, and then accuse me of railroading. Oh yeah..Thats why ive stopped Dming... ---Rusty

how about this mana point version?

All right. I think I get it now. 1) the extra +1 for wizards to Sorcs I tihnk is a bad idea. I think the number of spells per days off sets the reason for this rule. Don't forget about other classes like Wu Jen and War mages too. 2) In my styem, something I guess I should of post was that...

how about this mana point version?

Which is why I have tons of feats for my mana pool system. It make Spell caster need only to cast spells, since they can do it so easily with a hand full of house feats as described in my last post. ---Rusty P.S. On a Side note, I feel that alot of Dms are trying to change rules, with out...

how about this mana point version?

All right. But my basic math is still off. Would it be 4x3 for 3 3rd level spell casters? Because if its 1+spell level, a 3rd would cost four. So in the example, it would take 12 points, leaving 10 points left? ---Rusty

    My Mana-based casting system

As it says in the first line, from a campaign I played in three years ago. :D Actually, the one you described was what the Dm used. I came up with mine version debating things like infinite 0 levels spells and such. It coupled with alot of feats that make spell caster scary though. ---Rusty

how about this mana point version?

First, I would like to take the time to thank EvilBob and every one else who has taking part in debating ideas I have brought to the table, from this, to the 'Advanced' 3.5, it's fun fun debunking myths and the rules behind them. Now, on to the fun part. I'm not a math major. On the contrary...

    My Mana-based casting system

In a campaign I played in about 3 years ago, the Dm used his own Mana pool system which I thought was cool and simple. Mana points: add up all spell slots and bonus spells from a high spell casting stat. For example a Sorc with a 18+4 CHA who gets 5 zero levels spells and 5 first level spells...

Dead Levels: Great Idea, But Let's Develop It

Not to 'irritate' but to inform. Having played through so many bad house rules when Dms think they are fixing a mechanic in the game I want to show people that unless it serves a perpouse to the campaign (Such as a certain flavor) then 9 times out of ten it does not solve anything. (Spell...

    Auto Upgrading Feat

Close. As Hong said before, that is what the fighter's bonus feats are for. If you pile on auto upgrading feats on top of bonus feats, then its unbalanced to the rest of the classes. However, If all classes had there feats auto upgraded then it would be balanced. Share. ---Rusty

Dead Levels: Great Idea, But Let's Develop It

Spell casting is to Spell Casters as Feats are to fighters. There is no 'Dead Level'. ---Rusty

    Auto Upgrading Feat

its unbalanced, unless you give it to all classes and not just fighters. Rangers, for example, have this sort of thing as a Class ability Bonus feats as a class on top of a ranger's class ability? Unbalanced. Surly some one will recognize this? ---Rusty

Dead Levels: Great Idea, But Let's Develop It

Yeah..Right.... I am against the whole idea of 'dead levels'. The way I see it, there is a direct link from 'dead levels' and 'Multiple Ability Dependence' Monks need a Good Str, Dex, Wis, and sometimes Con. Despite that, they get a cool power every level. Fighters Need ether a Good Str, or...
