    pinpointing invisible opponents

I don't think it proably make them totally visible either unless you got them very well covered, but rather like the glitter dust spell the previously invisible foe would merely have concealment.

Any DM's not allowing Spiked Chains?

I ban the spiked chain because its a silly weapon that would be almost impossible to wield without poking a lot of holes in your body (at least as its drawn in the PHB). I do however allow the chain, which is statistically exactly the same.

    The Illusion of Powergaming

This is sorta how I see it, almost exactly. Ideally understanding the rules should allow you to make whatever character you want. In fact thats what I try to do when I make a character. I come with an idea and then I use the rules to turn the idea into numbers on a page. What can be bad...

Do you live in a good gamer city?

With in a 1 mile radius of my house there are 8 gamers (including myself) about half of which I reguarly game with. With in that 1 mile radius there proably live around 4,000 people. So that means about .2% are gamers. To my knowledge none of us are signed up for said website. While thats...

    Dealing with powergamers

As has been said: limit options. Not everything with the WotC, D&D or d20 label on it should even be considered for a game.

Improbabilities of party make-up (an issue of race)

Most games I've seen usually have mostly human and maybe one other race parties. Though one game we had a werebear, kobold (till he died), minotaur and a dwarf. But they all liked killing stuff or liked money.

WotC "dumbs-down" stuff? What's bad with it?

I didn't like it cause I was use to the old format and was pretty good at using it. The new format didn't really feel like an improvement, just different. And change for change's sake is a bad thing. Though I do appreciate when they write down a good attack routine/strategy for some of the...

    Realistic Weapon Damage

The hit point system is inherently flawed for portraying realism. As was discussed in a recent thread in the General Discussion forum I believe. I'd write more (or fine the link) but I should really be working on my midterm.

Class for a leader of men

But the marshall is still fun for a 1-2 level dip. Take 2 levels of bard and learn the 1st level spell inspirational boost (improves inspire courage effects by +1). And I second using perform (oratory) if you go bard. Both of these classes in a small amount would give you more leader like...

    What attracted you to D&D?

I got into d&d through boy scouts too. Several guys in the troop played it so when we hung out outside of scouts is when I started playing. Sometimes we'd play on long camping trips but generally not on short ones. That said the first RPG I played with any regularity and rules/plot consistency...

Is RAISE DEAD (etc.) too readily available in most D&D campaigns?

From what I've read of other groups, and from our group use to play, and from what I've seen/heard of many others groups, I'd have to say yes. Comming back from the dead should be a rare occurence, even for PCs.

    Hexbow? Duskbow?

Which is why you don't get a bow higher than +1. You just get a +1 bow with a bunch of other stuff, flaming, distance, shocking etc.

Which Classes Need Quick Fixes, And What Do You Recommend?

I'd recommend boosting the marshall's BAB to match the fighter's BAB too. Otherwise its just a weak class to stay in (good fix for the 1 level dip into it though).

D&D 3E/3.5 Conceptual Problems with 3E/3.5E and Desired Solutions for 4E

I really like that idea. Just list a handful of basic traits for every monster, could really help DMs with running them (particuarly in unplanned encounters or with noob DMs).

    Battle vs. Frenzied Berserker

I doubt the entire party will be wiped out, as it is a large party (unless they are caught napping). A couple will probably die though. What are the FB's AC/hit points? Probably not good enough to last too long in a stand up fight. HP 100-120 and an AC probably in the low teens when frenzied...

Vote On My Samurai (third edit)

Well done class I think. Unfortunatley it doesn't feel a niche in my current game or I'd add it. Much better than complete warrior's samurai, more flavorful than oriental adventures. Might be too much better than the fighter. I'd recommend getting rid of one of its good saves and possibly...

Poll: Power creep in 3.5, how significant?

Depends on the class. Full casters for instance I think will fair better with just core rules that other classes. Still there are a few really powerful PRC combos that can push a caster over the top. Skill monkeys don't really get too much of a boost as far as skills go outside of the core...

    Make a paladin better!

Divine might is pretty good for a paladin with a nice charisma. It's even better if you can some how get away with having high enough ability scores and enough feats to fight two weaponed also, I once saw an NPC villain do this but never a PC. Smite evil plus spirited charge also works pretty nice.

    Dwarven Monk, Dwarven Defender

I don't have the rule books in front of me, but check to be sure those different sources of DR stack by the rules. If they don't you'll need to talk to your DM. The DR will be powerful, but not close to game breaking. There are many more powerful builds out there. You probably won't have as...
