Have You Introduced New People to RPGs?

Quite a few, including 3 out of my 4 current players.

    Weapons of Legacy Question

Recently I have created background for the Swords of Life and Death. Created by the Twin Gods, they were wielded by paladins in the past. I have already created the Sword of Life, and I have thought of an option that I wanted to test out. I want to count ONLY paladin levels for the sword's...

    D&D needs improvement

Isn't there a feat that allows that? If not I imagine it wouldn't be hard to make one.

    I am drunk with power!!!

This town needs an enema! I never drink...wine.

Looking for a Magical Holy Symbol

I've always like having a special holy symbol give a cleric access to another of the deity's domains.

    D&D needs improvement

How simple does D&D need to be for people? Why bother complaining about it with so many games on the market? Seems to me that most of the OP's complaints can be fixed through house rules, so why not just fix them?

How do I deal with a cheating player?

Except for the DM and a VERY few other situations, all rolls should be made in the open. Those that should be hidden from the other players should still be made in front of the DM. I agree with the other posters-don't accuse him of cheating, just tactfully ask him to explain the result. I'm...

    Thoughts on Fochlucan lyrist?

In my campaign leaving the druidic order is punishable by death. Certain of the less moral members will hunt you down. So no learning druidic.

    Thoughts on Fochlucan lyrist?

True, I forgot about that requirement.

    Thoughts on Fochlucan lyrist?

It could be used with Cleric, but Druid makes the Knowledge (nature) requirement easier. I want to use a Diviner to make the character more like Merlyn from Stephen Lawhead's Pendragon Cycle.

High Level Magic (a bit of a mouthful)

Higher-level adventurers need nemeses (nemesii?). By the time characters reach the upper levels I try to have at least a rival group of adventurers, recurring BBEG, powerful monster they want to gain the power to defeat, etc., etc. for them to deal with.

Why would you want to play *that*??

    Maybe 'preferably' is the word.

Do You Have Too Many Books?

    AMEN!!!

Is your D&D campaign a game or a story?

I voted equal. We play a co-operative series of stories. Currently we are in a Zombie Apocalypse series of adventures. The next story arc will be run by my co-DM, who tends to be more game oriented while I'm slightly more story oriented.

Do you use or not use specific rules because of fears of munchkinism?

I don't allow any rule I haven't examined and considered. If someone wants to try something from a book I don't have, I'll borrow the book from them and get back with them on it the next week. Other than that if it fits the setting I'm usually alright with it (I reel in min-maxers other ways).

    I am drunk with power!!!

Thinking about it I've realized we could fill a thread with nothing but Vader quotes. I have altered the deal. Pray I do not alter it further. If you only knew the power of the dark side of the Force. There'll be no one to stop us this time. Join me and together we can end this foolish...

    Player Commandments

I think it would be wise to surreptitiously find out whether the players would enjoy a genre change, then give them enough time so they won't expect it. If they would like it, that is. If not don't do it.

Do You Have Too Many Books?

Considering that I have about 5000 regular books, my 40-50 RPG books aren't too worrisome.

    Yet Another Problem Player Thread

When I run a game I tend not to give out experience points for stuff people choose to do on their own. I'll give other benefits relevant to whatever it is they are doing. In my area players are hard enough to come by so I don't really expect much extra effort.
