Creature DR -- Su or Ex?

That situation hasn't come up in game yet, but that is probably how we would play it too.

Creature DR -- Su or Ex?

IMC, we use the following: If a DR would give you the ability to bypass the same DR (magic, epic, alignment), then it is Su. Also, for DR with multiple components (bludgeoning and magic for example), if any portion grants the ability to bypass DR, it is SU. If the DR does not grant any ability...

Rake and Pounce confusion? [2004 Thread]

I'm going to have to disagree with most of what Thanee said. 1. No, a leopard (or any other creature with rake) does not automatically get ANY rake attacks on a pounce; re-read the description (emphasis mine) It DOES matter; see above. The creature must be grappling before it can use rake...

Do you have to level up...

How about these sections from the Player's Handbook (emphasis mine). From EXPERIENCE AND LEVELS , Advancing a Level: From ITEM CREATION FEATS , XP Cost: These two sections lead me to believe that you cannot wait to advance to the next level; you must do so as soon as you gain at least the...

    Half-Vampires

Well, they probably do appear in some 3rd party books, but I remember seeing them first in the Monster Manual II. Half-Golem is a template that is added to a creature by replacing one or more limbs with constructed limbs

    SRD and Starting Funds

The SRD doesn't include the gold for level 1 because it is a random amount based on a die roll. 3.5 is the same as 3.0; the only difference is that the 3.5 PHB includes the average roll for all classes.

Can Presdigitation be used to produce a small flame ?

Must have had Necromancers on the brain :)

Can Presdigitation be used to produce a small flame ?

Well, Tome and Blood gives several examples of things you can do with Prestidigitation, including having a small jet of flame shoot from a finger to start fires or light torches.

    Help me find an item

You couldn't find it because it isn't in a 'book'; it's in Dragon #302, page 73. ;) You're pretty much correct on how it works. In any round in which the wearer is damaged, he gets a cure light spell (1d8+1). The wearer doesn't have any control over the item; whether the wearer takes 1 point...

    Constrict

From the SRD: Also from the SRD, from the Improved Grab ability: So, in your example, The creature would indeed do constrict damage in the same round that it initially grabbed the PC. Also note, in successive rounds, with successful grapple checks, a creature does both normal damage for...

Damage Resistance, is it Ex or Su?

In my campaign, we say that damage reduction that allows a creature to bypass damage reduction of the same type (creatures' natural weapons that have x/magic are considered magical weapons for bypassing damage reduction, etc) are Su while damage reduction that does not (5/bludgeoning for...

    Wildshape and worn items

Also, WotC posted a list of what magic item slots are available to quadruped animals at the link below, at the bottom of the page. http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/re/20031125a

    Fighter Medusa question

What he said. The only way to change the save DC would be if you used some of the ability increases granted every 4 levels to increase the medusa's Charisma.

Where do you center spell effects on your grid?

Well, if you want the official answer... (emphasis mine) From the SRD...

    DR, Su or Ex?

I agree with this; it says as much in the glossary of the Monster Manual and in the SRD. What about the lycanthrope's damage reduction of 5 or 10/silver? That is one of the few that is specifically identified and it is listed as Ex.

    DR, Su or Ex?

My group uses the following: Damage reduction that does not allow a creature to bypass damage reduction with its natural weapons is Ex (damage type [slashing, etc] or material type [silver, cold iron]) Damage reduction that allows a creature to bypass damage reduction of the same type (the...

    Weapon Light Generation

    You're welcome. :)

    Weapon Light Generation

From the SRD...(emphasis mine) The highlighted portion leads me to believe that the weapon glows all the time, whether someone is holding one or not. These glowing weapons are quite obviously magical. If you see a glowing sword lying on the dungeon floor, you know it's magical. Such a weapon...

    (Ex) or (Su)?

Interesting. Could you point me to a source where you got those? Also, why would silver and cold iron be supernatural, but adamantine would not be?
