    Rampant Anti-Groggism

No hope or innovation for the new edition, just bile for 4e and a return to a game of 30 years ago.

    Rampant Anti-Groggism

No it does not. I find it revealing that a thread complaining about "anti groggism" is showing the hostility that exist in this forum to anyone who speaks up for any aspect of 4e, or has the temerity to suggest that the game from 1978 could do with taking into account of change since then.

D&D 5E Should Rangers Have Spells in 5e?

I agree. I also think that any Class should have potential access to magic; so a Fighter should also be able to gain the ability to cast spells (if the Player wishes and the DM deems it appropriate for the Campaign) by spending Feats or equivalent.

    Rampant Anti-Groggism

Really? I was under the impression that the game that you've been playing has been changing for the last 30 years, as has the RPG industry, as have the expectations of Players. 3.5e and 4e have more in common than either do with 1e.

    D&D 5E Should 5E have Healing Surges?

I can appreciate the point of view. Part of the issue comes down to what Hit Points are; a measure of damage taken, or an abstract of luck/determination/heroism/whatever. With the former, it is inexplicable that everybody fights at maximum effectiveness, until they topple over. With the...

    D&D 5E Should 5E have Healing Surges?

I find it quite dispiriting how many people reject any concept of Healing Surges (in whatever form /whatever compromise) out-of-hand.

    D&D 5E Should 5E have Healing Surges?

This is not intended to be rude, but I cannot believe the game is destined to returned to the **** ol days where anything could be achieved by Magic, because it's......magic, whereas Non-Casters have to put up with the low-fantasy version of the game just because they "not magic".

    D&D 5E Should 5E have Healing Surges?

I agree, and I find it quite dispiriting how many people reject any concept of Healing Surges (in whatever form /whatever compromise) out-of-hand. As you pointed out, it is not a minor issue, but there is no way I can countenance going back to having to rely on magic, natural healing that took...

D&D 5E Should classes retain traditional alignment restrictions in 5E?

Just please no Detect Evil spam......

What doesn't belong in the "core"

Exactly what I want to see. Let the DM be the arbiter, not hackneyed definitions of what is and is not DnD.

    Reclaim the name of Paladin!

    Would work for me.

Get Rid of the Half X and Half Y names

Agree, I have never liked "half races", but Cambions for me at least are an exception. Make Half Orcs Jagerkin???

    Reclaim the name of Paladin!

I recall having non Lawful Good Paladins for some time prior to 4e.....there was a Dragon Magazine article I'm sure.

D&D 5E Should classes retain traditional alignment restrictions in 5E?

Your explanation is better than mine :(

    D&D 1E Should 5e adopt 1e style arcane magic?

    I agree, very well explained.

    Reclaim the name of Paladin!

    Couldn't have said it better.

D&D 5E Should classes retain traditional alignment restrictions in 5E?

Basically this. A Paladin for many players is seen as a holy Warrior, who is (commonly) independent of religious authorities. The Sir Galahad version is perfectly valid to those players, but it is not the only way they conceive of Paladins. Clerics are subtly different, and often don't quite...

    Reclaim the name of Paladin!

    Sadly, this is probably true.
