I've already preorder Keep on the Shadowfell. I can't wait to get a new game going but I'm waiting till 4th edition comes out. Thats one reason I'm starting a play by post game so my players get into the DnD mood.

Definitely in consideration... not sure if putting her in charge of commoners in that adventure would be such a good idea...

I really like the looks and thought behind the Killoren but they don't seem fit to the ancient civilization I want. They are in nature, they seem to be part of nature. I want a race that would have left ruins that are now over grown, great castles that have sunk into ravines. Towers that still...

Great thread. I'm loving reading all this. Great ideas are being presented here... to add to it... what if Gandolf had lost to he Balrog, but Galadriel got the one ring? Gandolf would be the one to think with reason, but with him gone, and her running things... who knows what could happen.

That is a good idea, they morphed into different creatures because of the plague. Might run with that... I do have a little planned with kobolds and this might play into that.

I like the idea of the Killoren but I don't have races of the wild. I've been thinking of Troglodytes or Lizardfolk, the plague mutating them into what we know as today, but they were once a proud, beautiful people. Seriously considering doing ogres or trolls... so many ideas in this thread...

I'm starting a new campaign set on a "new world" except for the fact the world isn't that new. Its houndreds of thousands years old but never had very many intelligent beings. Even dragons are newly finding this world. The world once was completely ruled by a single race that caught a terrible...
