Anybody else notice the Dire Capiberra?

History: The actual time it took to create a harness.

I think it should be kept in mind that there were very few armorers (or swordsmiths, for that matter) who worked alone....pretty much everybody worth their salt had a full assortment of apprentices and journeymen who would do different parts of the process... For example: one guy roughly...

[d20 Modern] Holland & Holland .600 Nitro Express

Well, since GT only goes up to .50cal, I had to estimate...but 4d8 or 3d10 seems to make the most sense. Ow. Range-wise, the muzzle velocity would say that a 200ft increment would make the most sense, but that's also just a guestimate.

What does you House Rules document look like?

A year ago, I would have said somewhere between 10-20 pages. Today, however, I can gladly say 'just about one page, not including setting-specifics like races,' all thanks to Grim Tales. That said, I kind of liked my 'heavy use of UA' setup... I was usiing wounds/vitality, armor-as-DR, Generic...

    Raw?

Actually... I got correct results on both FLGS and BBEG... So it may be more useful that it might lead you to be.

March Fo(u)rth for GM's Day Giveaway - Pimp Your GM!

I nominate my good friend Josh; whenever I get to be a player, he's the GM. Great games with pirates A sea-gull vomits on you! GMs on the fly In terms of DMing, he's everything I'm not (and in many cases, wish I was). He's quick to make things up, doesn't get stuck on the details, and always...

When I die, bury me with my dice!

I'd go with having my corpse used by the Mongolian Horde as a plague-carrying projectile to infect the defenders in a city, but that's a bit picky and unlikely... So, I think the best solution would be the viking burrial; on a flaming longship, pushed out to sea, with a full crew. Hey, I'll...

    3d10 xp, for realism

Now, for a really grim n' gritty game, I like to have the players roll 1d4 for the number of limbs their character has. But seriously, I like the idea, but am worried about how players might react.

    How many gaming groups?

Two and a half: One group with several of my closest friends. I run my 'main homebrew' game with them, or else play in the 1660s Pirate Game. One group with a couple of those friends and some of their 'not as close to me' friends. I run a 3.5 dungeon crawl game with them on 'off' weekends...

Um... Just how lazy are some people?

I'm that lazy, but I'm so much more cheap that I neither play MMOs or would be willing to order pizza when the kitchen--and the bulk goods therein--is just down the hall. That said, my dad and I often talk to each other at opposite ends of the house with our cell phones or a net messaging...

    Computers/Laptops at the gaming table?

Same exact thing for me; side table and everything.

    Woo Hoo!

Not sure about the security stuff, but to disable messenger, open messenger, and go to Tools>Options, and go to the Preferences tab, and uncheck 'Run this program when windows starts.' Then, all you have to do is close it, and it won't ever bother you again...well, I dunno, I'm not going to...

The Internet's influence on your gaming experiences

Internet in the 70s-80s: nothing would have changed (being born in 87 and all). No Internet in the 90s to present: since there would not likely have been any MMORPGs, I would probably have been more likely to have started playing D&D, since it would have surpassed the CRPGs much more obviously...

    Online sources for character names?

For historical names... http://www.gaminggeeks.org/Resources/KateMonk/ (not all of the sections work, but England-Medieval, England-Saxon, and Europe-Medieval are definately good, as is Ancient World) For other old-world names... http://www.stuffoflegend.com/roleplaying/CharacterNames/ (the...

    [Feb] What are you playing?

A healthy combination of KOTOR 2 and Counterstrike: Source. I'm barely anywhere in KOTOR, but I've learned how to use my Heroic Surge feat in CS, and overrun the enemy lines, killing several... ...before one of them gets me with that stupid automatic sniper rifle.

How Many Actual Sessions Has Your Current Long-Term Campaign Had?

About 12-15 sessions, give or take, since the campaign started 9 months ago....but, that's just a guess.

Tailoring magic to fit this type of world

You could always try using Grim Tales and limiting the spell availability, like I did...but, that's just a suggestion.

    Top down, or bottom-up?

Other! Ha-ha! For my big homebrew, I started with the mountain valley of Elondale and the town therein by the same name...so, I started bottom-up. However, after that, my next step was to figure out the nature of the world around Elondale in broad terms. I made a regional map, and from there I...

    Campaign idea

Now that is the kind of good idea I was looking for. Now, the problem is that I'm nowhere near the GM I'll need to be to do this campaign... Fortunately, I'm only about 1/4 of the way through my current 'big' campaign (i.e. the one I go to all the trouble working on, as opposed to the...
