    Bearded Men of EnWorld Unite!

Here I am preparing a light snack, high in the mountains. My beard kept my chin quite comfortable that day.

Where are the best place to find modifiable & savable character sheets?

I believe one possibility would be to find a form-fillable PDF sheet and then print-to-file as PDF, but that wouldn't allow what I assume you want--the ability to write up a character and then store and edit them at various points in the future.

    What music do you love?

Dylan, Hendrix, the Beatles, the Stones, Neil Young, Tom Petty, TMBG, and a little Coldplay now and again.

    Best.. USB HUB... ever....!

Push it in all the way, otherwise it won't make good (or any) contact. The 'male' plugs are built with a little piece of plastic that makes it pretty obvious when it's all the way in; if it feels like you'd need a hammer to make it go any further, it's just right. If it feels like it could go in...

True20 -- Who has tried and it not stuck with it?

I tried it, and loved it, and ran it for two years, but eventually had to put it aside because my group wanted some plain old 3.5e. They essentially said that the powers system was both too vague and limiting at the same time. They also said that the Warrior/Adept/Expert dichotomy didn't give...

    Shepherd, Rancher, Farmer... Orcharder?

Just so you know, that was intended partly in jest. The first one? Fruit-king. The second one? Fruit-master. The third one? Fruit-man. I don't think the True Obstkönig, Ulrich Birnekopf IV, would appreciate some pretentious Obstmann calling himself king.

    Shepherd, Rancher, Farmer... Orcharder?

For a germanic kingdom... Obstkönig, Obstmeister, Obstmann... For a more 'imperial rome' type of a place... Imperitor Frutii, who resides in Arx Frutalis...

What qualities make a gamer awesome?

I said mysterious past, not creepy present! But, anyway, yes, all absolute statements are partly false.

Help me flesh out a city! (Or, A Worldbuilding Diversion for Bored People)

Wow, lots more stuff! DrunkonDuty Thanks for all that stuff! All of it is both thematically appropriate and useful. I especially like the mounds! Bravo! Regarding the fishing, yes, they fish quite a bit on the lake, but they take in even more barreled stuff from the sea in the south, since the...

Help me flesh out a city! (Or, A Worldbuilding Diversion for Bored People)

Oh, wow, that's a lot of material, DrunkonDuty! It's gonna take me a bit to read through... In the mean time, here's the map I forgot to attach to my original post:

Help me flesh out a city! (Or, A Worldbuilding Diversion for Bored People)

Both of those are great! I think I'm going to have the Beggar Queen and her organization as the counterpart to the Black Hand (who are going to steal the evil artifact that the PCs are bringing to the Order of the Sun); she'll have eyes and ears in the unsavory places that no Sword of Auros...

Help me flesh out a city! (Or, A Worldbuilding Diversion for Bored People)

So, I've had problems in past homebrew campaigns when I run city adventures; I never have enough time to really flesh out my cities, and it ends up feeling like the PCs are running around a town set from an old western; there's nothing behind any of the doors except the ones they're supposed to...

A question for super science geeks!

Nope, I'm thinking of titanium. It burns crazy in oxygen. However, like magnesium and aluminum, it can be difficult to light--unless you get it up to the sorts of temperatures at which you can forge it or cast it. Titanium, aluminum, and magnesium are all closely related elements, with very...

A question for super science geeks!

(Note: I'm not a 'card-carrying' scientist yet; I'm just starting my junior year of a geology major.) Bronze statues are expected to remain more or less intact for around a million years (IIRC), but I don't think they would really be helpful for, you know, weapons, if the 'standard' stuff in...

Glass; Aluminum Can; Plastic - How do you like your soda/beer?

Glass bottles, hands down. They're the only thing you can get that don't have that vague plastic aftertaste (seeing as plastic-lined metal cans and plain old plastic bottles are the only other options in the developed world).

    Are you a teacher?

Option 3. Not because of money, but because of not being done with college as of yet (and I'm only really interested in teaching at the college level, so, as a junior, I've got about two and a half years before I can even be a TA and run labs for science classes). I like force-feeding my vast...
