Rpg's dieing out in our life time?

Hopefully not, and I guess probably not. The way it is played and the role that for instance technology is going to play will change a lot the coming years, I believe. On the sad side though, I visited my old brick and mortar game store recently. They used to have 3 to 4 big bookcases with RPG...

    My Weird Cat

Our cat, which is usually very sweet, starts to attack me and my wife when we sing or whistle. There's something in the sound of it that drives her (the cat) nuts. Works every time. When the cat is scratching at the windowframes again we start singing, and the destructive force is diverted to us.

Making untrained checks in trained only skills

The question that comes to mind is: Why would you like to do that? Allowing the roll I mean. I can see sense in having the players explain how they solve a certain issue, and from that derive some generic roll if needed. But otherwise, why the focus on a roll? (not to be rude or anything...

    Favourite Fantasy Settings

My personal favorite would be: 2nd ed Al Quadim There's something about the feeling of 1001 nights that really draws me to it. Also the mix between deserts, seafaring, etc. really appeals to me. Apart from DnD I realy love the Cyberpunk 2020 setting. Nice to think that in 10 years it is 2020!

Which to buy?Underdark or Serpent Kingdom?

If you really have to choose, I'd say go for usability, since both books are equally good (IMHO). Choose the one you can actually use the most in your campaign.
