WotC’s agreement with the official fansite was that the fansite update (and add to if necessary) the unfinished, unreleased products to 3.5. And must be released for free. There was no agreement to permit Athas.org to release the product using 2e rules, unfortunately.

The DM must know all of the abilities of all of the PCs in the party.

I bought it with some justification that I needed extra copies since my son essentially adopted the originals. Me being the eternal DM, it is nice to have all the monsters in a single book.

What if the solution is to not have casters step all over the role of damage dealing? Leave that to martial classes to shine, but keep a few damage magic around that they can’t spam all over the day.
