    D&D (2024) What's your favorite NEW spell for 5.24e?

At first I was underwhelmed with Jallarzi’s Storm of Radiance, but it’s growing on me. A celestial warlock would get another +5 damage to one target which is modest, but because it persists for up to a minute with concentration, if well placed, a mobile warlock could repelling blast targets back...

D&D (2024) Command is the Perfect Encapsulation of Everything I Don't Like About 5.5e

Or for 1 round, the target starts construction on a new building making NIMBYs within sight begin raging.

    D&D (2024) D&D 2024 Rules Oddities (Kibbles’ Collected Complaints)

Since the wording of Shield Guardians says “whenever the emanation enters a creature’s space…”, couldn’t that mean the spell could be ripe for the caster doing something like the Hokey Pokey, stepping forward so the emanation enters the space, stepping back, then stepping forward again making...

WotC How new Wizards of the Coast head John Hight turned around World of Warcraft

That was a nice read. It can be easy to get mostly negative news especially around certain companies that keep stepping on a field of rakes. But it is possible that history bodes well. I can imagine a lot of possible futures for D&D but I’m eager to see what might come.

    D&D (2024) 2024 Spell Changes

In this vid, Treantmonk explains the 2024 Defensive Dualist’s reaction to get your proficiency bumps to AC (if welding finesse weapon) has changed to give the bonus for all attacks that round, just like Shield does. I can see how Shield has competition. Defensive Dualist’s reaction to bump AC...

    D&D (2024) 2024 Spell Changes

I watched a Treantmonk video where he explained it was as is. However he described that there were now a few more ways warriors might be able to use a reaction to get defensive bonuses. So while Shield was not nerfed, it has a few more non-spell competitors for getting a brief AC bonus which...

    D&D (2024) D&D 2024 Rules Oddities (Kibbles’ Collected Complaints)

Is that a problem with See Invisible revealing hidden creatures though? By that explanation is seems to me that See Invisible would reveal magically invisible creatures with total cover just as well, so if that is the case it isn’t a broken ruling that hidden creatures are likewise seen as...

    D&D (2024) D&D 2024 Rules Oddities (Kibbles’ Collected Complaints)

On its face with a quick read, I don’t find much of a problem with See Invisible revealing hidden creatures in addition to invisible creatures. Can someone breakdown where this could be an undesirable mixing?

    D&D (2024) 2024 Spell Changes

One thing this could mean is that all those castings without using a spell slot, like warlock invocations are now, mean warlocks who can cast without spell slots can do things like cast their mage armor, misty step, jump, or levitate, invisibility or other such spells and still cast another spell.

    D&D (2024) I just got a 2024 PHB From Gen Con. AMA!

Which ranger spells in 2024 no longer have concentration that formerly did in 2014? Care to share the wording of Hunter’s Mark?

D&D General The Resurrection of Mike Mearls Games.

Agreed on the monster design. What he talked about for the monster could almost get a monster down to the amount of page-inches a monster would fit in a 1e or 2e module’s room. 5E is still dealing with some of the 3e aftermath, and 3e’s monster stat blocks are one where seemed to be a design...

D&D (2024) Check Out The New Dungeon Master's Guide's Greyhawk Map

Although Carl wrote one of the modules in adventure series that lead into Greyhawk Wars, Five Shall Be One, which was the first of the Blades of Corusk series, intended to be a trilogy. The third module was turned into Greyhawk Wars. My understanding was Carl was not involved with Greyhawk Wars...

D&D (2024) Check Out The New Dungeon Master's Guide's Greyhawk Map

This is complicated and up to interpretation. Supposedly, at the time it was published Gary said things implying that Greyhawk now for those who game in it, that any advancement to the setting was under their control. But nearly immediately Gary’s column in Dragon Magazine (titled From the...

    D&D (2024) Ranger 2024 is a bigger joke than Ranger 2014:

We haven’t seen the final version of the Hunter’s Mark spell. I’m holding hope that it has scaling like the damaging cantrips use. 5 ranger levels two dice, 11 ranger levels three dice. It also could help incentivize sticking with the class and minimize multiclass dips. So that capstone changes...
