    What is Rifts like?

Some people say that Rifts is the greatest game you can never play. I respectfully disagree. Rifts is the greatest game you can play with difficulty and an experienced group focused on fun. Fringeworthy is the greatest game you can never play. Imagine Stargate SG-1 written in 1983. Now...

Evil to Twisted in a good party?

Sadly, in Eberron, everone has the same afterlife. And no one likes it. Dolurrh is a dull grey misty plain on which your memories and ambition slowly fade away, while your spirit becomes fainter and fainter. It's a lovely place this time of year. --G

Armor Enchantments to Reduce Weight and other questions . . .

I am playing an 8th level warforged psywar in an Eberron game. I've got the adamantine body feat (enchanted to +1), but I'm looking for was to boost my speed. I already have boots of striding and springing. Is anyone aware of an armor enchantment that causes the armor to be treated as one...

D&D 4E Firearms for the 4E Game (Contributions Welcome)

I think Reloadable (minor) is too good. If you think about it, that means a rifleman can move into position, fire, and reload all in the same round. That makes firearms only slightly less useful than all other weapons, but the increased damage probably makes up for it. I think the wiser...

    Answers on the GSL!

Except they can't do that (and I don't see where you get the idea that they would do that--the only time it will crop up is if a publisher is using someone else's OGC). Because products are produced under certain versions of the OGL. If my product is released under version 1.0a of the OGL, and...

Important! Interview opportunity - what do you want to know about the GSL?

So are you suggesting we might not see the response to the questions by 5/5? Because that might make people nervous about whether we're going to see them before June 6. Having dealt with similar kinds of issues in my own professional life, I know that things come up, and schedules shift...

Important! Interview opportunity - what do you want to know about the GSL?

Mike posted this on April 24. So we know it wasn't done between 4/21-4/25 (obviously). It's not outside of the realm of possibility that it won't be ready next week either. That would be between 4/28 and 5/2. So that gets us through Friday. He has not said that it won't be available the...

Important! Interview opportunity - what do you want to know about the GSL?

Scott, I understand how you feel. There are two possibilities that I can see right now. First, WotC is going forward with a license that will make publication of products under the GSL and the OGL impossible. This is the one hinted at in "the other thread." This option, when leaked, created...

    Minion Status: Private or Public?

I can say that you shouldn't give the PCs a monster's status. Because no matter how bad your PCs are, now matter how awesome you think they are going to do against the army of minions you've sent against them, minions are deadly when the party cannot roll above a 10 (and by that I mean--cannot...

    Custom Paragon Paths

Hmm. I like the power, but we need a better explanation. How about: You manipulate and synchronize multiple timelines such that your targets' potential selves interfere with their present attacks. --G

What makes a bard a bard?

I think the defining characteristic of a bard is that it grows from the cheeks and/or chin of, in nearly all cases (with the exception of dwarves) males of the species. Any other distinction is merely stylistic. Clearly, the cheeks and/or chin aspect is important, because the "Amish style"...

Important! Interview opportunity - what do you want to know about the GSL?

Hain't screwed up yet. I didn't cancel my pre-order. ;) And my faith isn't entirely restored, but I'm giving them the two more weeks. Oh, alright, I jumped to conclusions too. There, are you happy now. ARE YOU? Huh? Huh? :D --G

    New GSL Announcement

Actually, the thing I took from that is that after the response here (and elsewhere) the "final" version of the GSL has been determined to be "not done." I think it was final, and due to the questions that have arisen, it's in a process of revision. Not that we'll ever know for sure. --G

    Does WOTC have the right?

I'm not sure. Here's what I think is the relevant text from the current d20 STL: 9. Changes to Terms of the License Wizards of the Coast may issue updates and/or revisions to this License without prior notice. You will conform in all respects to the updated or revised terms of this License...

Important! Interview opportunity - what do you want to know about the GSL?

But it sounds like Option 3 may be the truth. The language about having work that needs doing with regard to the GSL and OGL suggests to me that our concerns have been heard and may be being addressed. Hope . . . rising. Urge to despair . . . falling. WotC's bought another two weeks of...

Important! Interview opportunity - what do you want to know about the GSL?

You obviously haven't seen my posts in the GSL thread. Option 3: Wow, you know we had this idea (Option 1), but after listening to the community, we're reviewing it to see if we can find a revision that will make everyone happy. We don't know whether we can, but we're devoting serious effort...
