Important! Interview opportunity - what do you want to know about the GSL?

The advantage is that until WotC owns up, it will have fans, like myself who will argue that it's a good company and that we don't have enough reliable information to reach the conclusion that OGL publishers are being screwed out of the opportunity to participate in 4e because of their non-d20...

Important! Interview opportunity - what do you want to know about the GSL?

And to me, that's beginning to sound a lot like "We know you're not going to like what we have to say, so we're sandbagging it." Must say, I'm losing my faith in WotC. --G

There you go, bringing facts into a discussion. My point is that within the context of D&D, Rakshasas traditionally have been depicted as orange and black tiger men with reversed hands. The MM3 was, afaik, the first time they were depicted in an official D&D source as being other than orange...

Important! Interview opportunity - what do you want to know about the GSL?

Yes, but in other parts of the world you can get it at more than 300 bps. :P --G

Helm of Opposite Alignment, Efreeti, and You

Bah. That's not as much fun. Fine, make the Efreeti a Sorceror 4, and have him use Nystul's magic aura to deceive the PC. It's better for the story! --G

    New GSL Announcement

I don't know Scott or Linae. But I trust Orcus (never thought I'd say those words). If Clark thinks we should extend them a portion of our trust, I'm willing to do so. I suspect he knows much more about what's going on than the rest of us do. --G

Important! Interview opportunity - what do you want to know about the GSL?

It's a legitimate question and a decent way of gauging how seriously Wizards is taking this. If this is a high priority, they'll have an answer soon. If this has already turned into enough of a PR nightmare and the answers are going to make things worse, they may not have the same motivation...

D&D 4E 4e, Gleemax, and DDI info from GAMA Trade Show

I was just thinking the same thing. We've kind of seen it before. When the MM3 came out around the time Eberron came out and was chock full of new Eberron-esque monsters. Hopefully, they'll keep up the trend. --G

    Does WOTC have the right?

I don't know how courts in the UK construe contracts, but where I'm from, the general rule of thumb is that a court will construe a contract to acertain and effectuate the intent of the parties by giving full effect to each word of the contract and avoid constructions that are strained or lead...

Helm of Opposite Alignment, Efreeti, and You

I'm thinking that the efreeti has a bluff of +15 and a sense motive of +15. If I'm the efreeti and I get even the slightest hint of what's going on, I'm totally lying and pretending to be Chaotic Good. Not only that, I'll lie and say the reason I still detect as evil is because I'm an...

It started with Eberron, where they added a few new types of Rakshasas. In the ECS, they added the Zakya Rakshasa. Then, in the MM3, they added the Ak'Chazar and the Naztharune (White Tiger and Black Panther, respectively). --G

Important! Interview opportunity - what do you want to know about the GSL?

And just as I start to lose faith in WotC, they do something to earn a stay of execution. I'd seen their retraction earlier today, but hadn't had the chance to comment. When I saw it, I must say it felt like a bit of a betrayal. As someone who's been optimistically advising a wait and see...

    Does WOTC have the right?

I kind of figured as much. It just makes evaluating that individual's level of familiarity with the terms of the GSL, and comprehension of the same, difficult. I suppose that's why out of court statements aren't admissible for the truth of the matter asserted, huh? --G

    Does WOTC have the right?

And while I cannot address the second concern (only Le Rouse can do that), I think he's already said that after the license terminates, publishers will need to remove the d20 logo. Here's the quote: Of course, that's cold comfort if you can't produce GSL content because you're still selling...

    New GSL Announcement

It's not the fact that people are in different locations, it's the fact that those people are all involved working on projects that have to be completed at those locations. My boss and I were in different locations all day on Friday. He was driving from Nebraska to Sioux Falls, SD. I was in...

    New GSL Announcement

Nothing false in Scott's statement. He's been following the discussion (evidenced by his posts in this thread). He hopes to add clarity. Not "will definitely make a post on Monday enlightening everyone about the details of the GSL." Frankly, under the circumstances, requesting input from the...

    Does WOTC have the right?

Actually, you're conflating the two separate provisions. One section, section 5, deals with termination for breach. The other section, section 6 deals with the effect of termination. Section 6 does not limit itself to termination for breach. Now technically, the d20 STL doesn't include...

Important! Interview opportunity - what do you want to know about the GSL?

Although we butted heads in the other thread relating to the GSL, I think that mxyzplk's questions are all very important to the gaming public. I'd like answers to these questions as well. --G
