I just read what the was printed on the Chaosium webpage. They state that they retain full rights to d20 cthulhu material besides the core rulebook which is wotc.
I hope Chaosium keeps a tight reign over Cthulhu. I don't think Chaosium has anything to gain as far as content goes from letting anyone produce Cthulhu material.
Its good to see that Chaosium is letting other companies produce Cthulhu d20 material. Just the other day I read on the Chaosium website that they held all the rights to producing d20 material for Cthulhu.
I would have to say that if Chaosium is letting someone else produce material, they have...
I agree with Plance Sailing, You need a control "device" I think their master could keep them in check. He will always be more powerful. Then if the PCs get out of control then you have something in game terms to put them in place.
There are alot of good points, but if you make a PC that is not a adventurer in and adventuring game then yes it will not work.
The DM needs to state what kinda of game is is running or agree with the players about what game to run.
The missings player's character is there, but cannot take part in battle and does not take damage either. The only way the character dies is if the whole party dies. The character doesn't gain experience for anything. The only thing the character can do is use abilities that the other players...
I have only just purchased the revised core rulebook.
I find it to be very vague on mnay points. Really it is vague on all points. I would think they "plan" to release supplements in the future.
The only problem with an all Jedi campaign would be that the PC's would be under the control of the Jedi Counsel or Jedi Master, unless they were Dark Side. The only control they would have is how they solved there missions and only if they solved it based on the Jedi code.
If your PC's like...
Well I would that most everyone here has read that. It will behard to get through the adventure without the PCs walking right through the adventure without challegne, but once your past that adventure then things will go smoother.
Damage Reduction???
How about adding the already exsisting hardness rules to armor. It would be the same as using the DR model really and add a bit of realism as well with armor taking some damage.
I have all three Tolkien cartoons: Hobbit and Return of the Kings. As well as the other not so popular Lord of the Rings cartoon.
They are your standard nothing special DVD they some text and maybe the trailer but thats it. I can't remember off the top of my head.
Well anyone could publish horror source book with a various themes (zombies vampires and demons aren't copyrighted by anyone). Just don't include the stats or rules from d20 system or any other system.
We don't make characters with below 8-9 ability scores. Mostly we don't make them with below 10 so 69=1d10 point for point works fine for us.
With that said sometimes we pick our scores.
example:
Fighter human
str 16
dex 14
con 15
int 12
wis 13
cha 10
give or take on a few....
I own both the d20 and the Chaosium book.
I would say if you like a little action in your games go with the d20 book. I like action but Im going to use the Chaosium book.
