    Effervescent Elixer of Health

It was the ointment that finally let me figure out what level this should be. I didn't want to mess with my players too much, saying that "oh, Keoghtom's Ointment does this too" as it was more likely they would just forget it. That would also involve raising the level of teh ointment as well...

    Useful resources for Homebrewers

Ok, your Arcana Wiki doesn't sound like the place for my material then, it's all from my imagination (as much as it can be anyway). If I spot something in my setting that might go there, I'll toss it in.

    Our Many Magical Items

So, here's my first (sorta), but hopefully not last, magic item for 4e. It's got its own thread over here: http://www.enworld.org/forum/showthread.php?t=238309. Otherwise, let's just fill this thread up with our ideas for magic items. Effervescent Elixir of Health Level 12...

    House Rule Help

It all depends on how often you actually give these out, and how often you want those effects to happen. Mind you, as you gain level and gain access to more and more daily and encounter powers, those will matter less. Overall though, I think the reroll a d20 should cost the same as a reuse and...

    Effervescent Elixer of Health

Ok I have finally finalized a magic item that allows characters to regain healing surges. Turns out it's a little too hight level for what I wanted it for, but oh well. Here it is, let me know that you think: Effervescent Elixir of Health Level 12 The clear bottle shows...

    Useful resources for Homebrewers

I'm a little confused about the Wiki. Is it for all fantasy settings, or just more modern style ones? If its high fantasy, I have about 50 pages of material I could contribute, otherwise I have very little.

    Thy At-Will Be Done

I don't think the reaction power is too much, I don't think it needs the extra +2 to attack. But then again, it is such a niche that it actually isn't too bad. You do have to give up one of the other at-will powers to take it, which will be used, likely, very much more often. Checkmate is also...

Global Homebrewers Alliance Forums Now Live!

I'd like to use this forum to keep our stuff "alive" in the forums. It seems like things fall of the homebrew forums first page way too fast. Hopefully we can support each other by trying to give constructive criticism on everyone's homebrew material. Or not. whatever.

    Why do you homebrew?

I started doing it because I wanted to make a video game world. When that fell apart I started putting together the world for D&D. One that started coming along, I found I had many holes to fill, and I was the only one with dirt. Yes, I know its a terrible metaphor. Anyway, the more I did it...

    D&D 4E Houseruling 4E diagonal movement?

My group has been using the 1-2-1-2 rule since KotS, and we have no problem with it. But we only use it for movement, not for determining ranges and sizes of effects. This system works fine for us, but maybe we're all crazy.

Paragon Path: Blade of the Sacred Oils

So I just made this paragon path up from an old prestige class I made of the same name, which was based on the Warrior of Darkness from the Book of Vile Darkness, but not evil. Anyway, now I have this 4e version ready for critique, so let me know what you think. Blade of the Sacred Oils...

    Demon possesion mist

Funny thing is, except for the possesion power, that's all from the Wraith. And well the 100 HP is from making it elite, wraith originally had 37. Do you think I should add something to help the players get the demon out of them, such as an aid another check or something. I have a skill...

    Demon possesion mist

Ok, so I cleaned it up a bit, hope it's a little more readable now. I'm used to just posting PDFs, but that's not really viable in this case. As far as stat mix goes, he's about 85% wraith, 10% goristro and 1 ability/5% from the tormenting ghost. From the goristro he has his huge size, demon...

    Demon possesion mist

Normally I wouldn't post a simple elite-ed monster, but this guy is so much more. The concept is fairly simple: a demon in mist/ghostly form that possesses NPCs and PCs. The exectution: A wraith that has taken on powers a qualities of a Goristro and a Tormenting Ghost. Here he is, and he has a...

please give opinions on these feats

I took a look, the only one I'd consider semi-reasonable is Improved Unarmed Strike and a bit of Dynamic Unarmed Strike. There are a few changes I'd make though. Improved Unarmed Strike: 1d8 is a little high I think. Monks in 3.5 only started with 1d6, so I go with 1d6. Also, I never noticed...

    New healing potions, and more

Ok, I like this. So let's call it the Effervescent Bottle of Health (terrible name I know). It automatically refills itself every day, so it's a daily power item. Now Dwarven armor heals equal to a healing surge. That would make it item level 2. But since it's not tied to a body slot, and the...

    Setting the mood for Ashenport

I ran through about half the module in 3.5 and there wasn't really much to differentiate it from most adventures. So I think atmospheric elements are very important. I'm currently planning on running the module for some other players. I'd definitely like to get some advice in this thread as...

    New healing potions, and more

The 3/4 potions in the PH seem a little weak to me. At certain levels, yes, they're awesome, as you get more hit points back than normal. But by 3rd level our fighter's surge value was already equal (he was Dragonborn by the way), then they become a big trade off for the characters, do you spend...

How do we make economics that do not limit character concepts?

I wholeheartedly agree with your assessment darkrose, but the problem comes in solving the economy issue. The adventure "marketplace" is wrapped pretty tightly into the game. They even say to use one or more of the treasure parcels as the adventure hook, not adding any more gold to the pile...

    Paragon Multiclassing option

I think you have good intentions, but the big problem I see is stacking some very powerful abilities. In particular Master of the Hunt, where I can make a Rogue with high dex, then sneak attack and quarry damage on the same guy, every turn. That's a bit much. The problem is that not all class...
