    D&D 4E Not going to 4e

Don't let 4e kill D&D for you! With the amount of product out there for 3e, I see no reason anyone needs to stop playing 3.5 just because of 4e. Heck, I know people who still play OD&D, 1st. Ed, and 2nd Ed. AD&D still. And I play C&C . Definitely don't stop gaming though!

    D&D 4E Not going to 4e

Well said Brother MacLaren. I've had similar discussions with players who were raised on 3e, having never played earlier editions, and the points get missed. Because of 3e, the classic feel of D&D has been distorted. It's just the way of things I guess.

    D&D 4E Not going to 4e

I had gotten fed up with 3.5, so I switched to C&C. With 4e, I thought maybe it could bring me back. But they're making too many changes that take away the classic D&D feel. To me, the only reason 4e will be D&D is because of the name. So at this point in time, I'm not switching. I'm happy...

Once you go C&C, you never go back

True, and not true. Non-weapon Proficiencies were invented in 1e and were the precursor to the 3e Skills system. NWPs and a Skills system or not, various DMs made rolls or made the players roll. What's the difference? The SIEGE is just a simple way to accomplish the rolls. The CK has full...

Once you go C&C, you never go back

As far as I'm concerned, multiple XP tables seemed to work just fine for AD&D. But that aside, a single XP progression to me has a generic feel. Class-based XP tables to me have a certain charm and add character to the classes. Kind of funny how that came out. Are you saying that the SIEGE...

Once you go C&C, you never go back

Heh, any info you can share about what the art will be like for the CKG, or C&C UA? ;)

Once you go C&C, you never go back

I can't agree more! I had asked Peter when he would do an all girl calendar. :D Oh, and I've admired your avatar as well. It's my favorite PHB piece. I think it's been the single biggest inspiration for me being a huge fan of Paladins since I started playing D&D.

    Misunderstood question. Deleted.

Once you go C&C, you never go back

See and I am one who doesn't care for 3e artowrk, who likes the pre-DragonLance artwork, but does like the work of those artists, and I like Peter's work. Though not completely. I think it's a little too clean and smooth or something. I can't quite place it. But I see it as his style and I...

Once you go C&C, you never go back

I own all the books for C&C and I don't see the art this way. They don't contain modern elements, but more have a modern age feel just as Elmore/Easley/Parkinson/etc had a modern age feel in the 80's. Art influenced by the modern era, but still fantasy themed. I beg to differ. Look HERE and...

Once you go C&C, you never go back

C&C Fan I voted Yes. When I read the books, I liked it, and I switched…sort of. I switched as a GM. But not as a player. I have yet to play C&C as any gamers I play with that GM, GM other game systems like D&D 3.5, HackMaster, Home-Brewed D&D, d6 Star Wars, Shadowrun, etc. So it’s kind of...

    New game store RPG selection?

Thanks for the input so far! Something I’m finding very interesting is that my question is about stocked products, and so far, in every forum and e-mail list I’ve sent this query, I’ve gotten responses about how to properly run a game store including customer service, game/demo space, employees...

    New game store RPG selection?

I’m working on the initial product order for a new game store and would like to get some feedback from fellow gamers on what to stock. I have a beginning list, but want to make sure there isn’t something I’ve left out. So my question to you all is, when you walk into a game store, what...

    The C&C poll

Well, TLG is a smaller company like TSR used to be.

Gotcha PC. Seeing your name is like a flash from the past. Cool to see you're still around. :D

    The C&C poll

No lying. Players of C&C convert 3.5 rules into their game as they want very easily. The base mechanics of C&C are like a mix of 3.5 and OD&D. If you want Feats, you can easily add them, or just make them SIEGE checks. If you want 3.5 Skills, they're added seamlessly. But, I'll admit that...

    The C&C poll

Heh, and I wasn't suggesting that he didn't know how to play the game as much as maybe misunderstood some thing(s) about it and to go to the forums to discuss it just to be sure it was the way he thought. I knew a gaming group that after a year of playing 3.0, they finally found out they were...

    The C&C poll

I feel partly responsible for your feelings here. I merely posted the suggestion because all old-school D&Ders I've known who tried C&C really enjoyed it and thought it brought back fond memories of the old days of D&D. And you being that type of gamer, your response made me think there might...

    The C&C poll

You CAN'T be serious. If that is true, then 3.5 D&D has a mega-huge problem. I have yet to know of anyone to pick up a role-playing game a play it correctly the first few times, INCLUDING the latest version of D&D. Why do you think there are so many "Rules Discussions" areas on game related...
