I really hope it does well. The last few fantasy movies have sucked from what I've seen. Seems like the drive to do LoTR cantasy movies is kind of gone now.

Okay, that sounds really neat! The only other 5e setting that I know of, that seems to be pretty inspired by more ancient eras rather than Western medieval Europe, is Swords & Sorceries by Arc Dream Publishing. EDIT: I forgot about Arkadia, Scarred Lands, and one of the MtG settings.

Honestly they probably could be D&D campaigns. It's just that the motivations are different from the general "There will be tons of treasure and we'll be rich and living off the high hog after this." motivation one sees in a lot of adventuring parties.

I've thought the big thing that seperates D&D from most fantasy shows currently is that it focuses generally around a small cast of main characters traveling together or basing together? Kind of like LoTR honestly

Porphyra seems to want to be PF 1.75 from what I've read in reviews about it. Which makes me wonder why? Like was PF 1 just too limiting for it?

This is an odd requirement I find. You're essentially deliberately excluding 3rd party D&D/Pathfinder settings with this requirement. How come?

Does the book detail daily life in Thay? One thing I always find interesting is how the average citizen lives in fantasy settings like Forgotten Realms.
