    Space RPGs?

I meant the latter, although I was purposely leaving it a bit vague. I'm interested to hear about all the space RPGs in general.

    Space RPGs?

Sorry, d20 Revised. And I have to say, that's what I'm really finding to be the case for me. I'm glad to see I wasn't alone on this. Thanks for everyone's suggestions thus far; there are some great systems here I've never heard of. I'm checking Traveller's Wikipedia entry right now.

    Space RPGs?

Hey everyone. I've been reading some sci-fi space operas as of late, and it's really whet my appetite to run a space RPG. Only problem is, I don't know of any great space RPGs. I own the Star Wars books, but that's definitely not what I'm looking for. The Battlestar Galactica and Firefly...

    What is GURPS?

I'm planning on trying out either GURPS or HERO; the beginning of this thread sold me on HERO over GURPS, but now I'm not so sure. You guys need to make up your mind! ;)

Final proof: OMG 4e is anime

I think WotC is just applying their game to general nerdom, much like the Penny Arcade Expo has a large focus on video games and video gamers, but also has D&D there.

Ranger - Twin Strike kick to the groin?

That was my bad on not clarifying, but I did count it as just a basic melee attack, so STR damage was included.

Ranger - Twin Strike kick to the groin?

I ran a 4E game for my group for the first time on Saturday. The group was under attack by bandits, and a bandit sidled up next to the ranger of the group. The ranger was holding a longbow, wanted to attack but couldn't do so and shift as well (he was dazed). He also didn't want to draw an OA...

    Tac-Tiles: Gone for good?

With all these people wanting tac-tiles, I can't see how they could NOT make money off these things! It's like printing gold! Yes, yes, I know, the cost of production. Just charge more, I guess.

Introduced new player to 4e. Have you? Let's hear about it.

I really enjoyed hearing that story, Wisdom Penalty. You should tell us how things go with Bill.

    Monsters and cover

And that kobold mage in that 5' wide corridor can shoot through the kobold ally to hit the PC with no penalty, correct?

    Goblin Hexer - Vexing Cloud

I've been wrestling with this question and wanted to tap the wisdom of these boards. When the Goblin Hexer (pg. 137 MM) casts his Vexing Cloud, "all enemies within the zone take a -2 penalty to attack rolls." It then continues on and says, "The zone grants concealment to the goblin hexer and...

    Tac-Tiles: Gone for good?

I found tac-tiles through ENworld, and let me just say that it tears me up that tac-tiles is gone. It was such a great product, and I thought it was selling really well! I really hope someone steps in to fill the void, because other battlemaps simply cannot compare.

Dragon article -- Class Acts: Wizards

Yeah, that's what I was going for/clarifying in my second post: that I'm looking for something a bit more than doing a d6 of fire/cold/acid damage. But to be fair, while I plan on running a game, I have yet to run it and see 4E in action. So maybe wizards (or any other class) DO get enough use...

Dragon article -- Class Acts: Wizards

Shall I say the heavy focus on attack spells versus utility spells? Really, there was nothing preventing me from taking Ray of Frost and calling it Illusory Ambush. How about I take Thunderwave and call it Illusory Stampede or something. There are still times when I am left stunned at its...

Dragon article -- Class Acts: Wizards

It's nice to see new powers for the wizard; I can appreciate that. However, seeing the powers just drives home one of the flaws of 4th ed for me: the heavy focus on doing damage, and the generic quality of it all. Illusory Ambush. You do some damage ('psychic', in this case), and the opponent...
