Q on Fantasygrounds, OpenRPG, DnDi, and other methods of online play

I'll add my support for Fantasy Grounds. I'll say right now that it's not very good for any other system besides D&D, but for D&D, it is amazing. I have the full license, my players have the lite version, and we all love it. If you're looking at running D&D games online, I highly, highly...

As a DM, What do you do when your party doesn't kill the bad guy?

The goblin wanders off, and then eventually shows up to fight the party later on, shooting the leader of the party as he's trying to blow the bridge.

Dr Midnight's Keep on the Shadowfell - Unbelievably updated on 7/30

Ah, but don't forget that skill challenges as written are broke. I hope you're using Stalker's improved skill challenge system. Otherwise, your players are getting a bum deal! Either way, I look forward to some story goodness. Bring on the adventure!

Dr Midnight's Keep on the Shadowfell - Unbelievably updated on 7/30

Never! Question: are any of the people playing in this one from the Temple of Elemental Evil game? Also, do you plan on having a website for it?

    RPG with best shooting mechanics?

I bought a lot of the books for Spycraft 1.0, but I haven't seen the latest one. Thanks to everyone for their suggestions so far. A lot of these systems sound interesting, and I'm going to look into them. Nice YouTube video, too.

    RPG with best shooting mechanics?

So, a question completely unrelated to D&D, but one I feel like the grizzled veterans on this board can help me with. I've searched as best I can, but I've never found an RPG that seemed to have really solid and fairly detailed firearm mechanics. I'm talking about reloading/accuracy/different...

    Cleric - Guardian of Faith

Easy there, hoss. A player was the one who brought up such an exploit, and so it worries me that they might rely on funneling enemies down a narrow corridor. And yes, enemies can run away/have ranged attacks/etc, etc, but it's still an exploitable situation. Consider if they are fighting...

    Cleric - Guardian of Faith

Aaaanddd I posted this in the wrong forum. If a moderator sees this, feel free to move it to rules.

    Cleric - Guardian of Faith

So I was looking at running a D&D 4E game with some friends, and one of them had chose Guardian of Faith for the cleric. I commented how I thought that ability was pretty crappy. However, a scenario was brought up that made me very uncomfortable. What happens when a cleric summons a guardian...

D&D 4E The Quest to use the Half-Elf's Dilettante (4e spoilers)

I guess I hadn't really noticed that. I was going the Infernal Pact, which I see now does rely solely on Con. That said, I really would like to be able to use the rest of the warlock abilities, ones that use Star or Fey. Bolstering Strike! Wow! Yes, that's exactly what I was looking for...

D&D 4E The Quest to use the Half-Elf's Dilettante (4e spoilers)

I'm kind of in the same boat as the OP; I'm making a half-elf warlock, and am having a tough time picking an at-will. However, while eyebite might be good for the rogue, I can't really see anything that stands out for the warlock, especially with a Con & Cha focus. Anyone have any ideas?

Okay people, a little wake up call.

It's odd you mention Shadowrun. I love that system! (Now more than D&D, methinks).

Okay people, a little wake up call.

Well, in the case of 3rd edition, it felt like the creativity was on both ends. They were creative in their spell selection, and you could be creative in the spell usage, as per your example (which I was grinning about, and thought was quite funny and creative). To be fair, I would consider...

Okay people, a little wake up call.

And now I see it as nobody can do anything varied. If anything, I feel like they should have gone in the opposite direction: 1001 things that every class can do that no other class can. Instead, we have everyone dealing 1[W]damage. I'm not impressed. Getting to focus on one spell and...

Okay people, a little wake up call.

I was kind of apathetic towards 4th edition when I first heard about it. I really didn't mind one way or the other that there was a new edition coming out. However, after reading the previews and the excerpts, in addition to all the people raving about how great a play 4th edition was when...

Okay people, a little wake up call.

I want everything spelled out for me. I was excited about 4th edition - I wasn't one of the naysayers - but after having gotten it and checking it all out, there's only one conclusion I can make: 4th edition is a huge disappointment.

Which ENWorlder Would You Want to Meet?

The no. 1 ENWorlder I'd want to meet? Wulf Ratbane. He's always seemed like a really cool guy, and I was a big fan of his story hour. Haven't seen him around much as of late, though.

Why I don't support my LGS

I would agree with you on the odds. It is funny how many people have run into the asocial game store clerk/owner. In all honesty, I have been very underwhelmed by all LGS I've gone to, so I'm not even claiming a different experience. I think that's true, and that's part of what bothers me...
