D&D General Do you track ammunition?

I don't. My PC's make hundreds of gold, and I am supposed to tell them to buy arrows? Not what I am playing D&D for.

D&D General What Should Magic Be Able To Do, From a Gameplay Design Standpoint?

I don't need a singular answer. We just need to find what works for our table.

D&D General What Should Magic Be Able To Do, From a Gameplay Design Standpoint?

I think the answer is "whatever is fun to the players" and work your way back from there.

D&D 5E 2024 Monster Manual has better lore than 2014 Monster Manual

It looks like the page space prio was as follows: Stat block Art Lore So lore pulled the shortest straw if there was too much of the others. I never really read the lore, so I'm not that worried.

D&D 5E 2024 Monster Manual has better lore than 2014 Monster Manual

Hmmm, interesting take. I recently finished reading the whole 2025 MM and I like it. I can't say it improves on the lore. When there is space for a table and two or three paragraphs of lore, it's great. Sadly, that isn't the case for quite a few monsters. Cylcopes and Merfolk come to my mind...

    D&D (2024) Take A Deeper Look At The New D&D Starter Set's Card-Based Characters

I really like the visual design on it so far. If I can run 2-hr sessions for new players with this, I'll buy it and bring it to cons. Let's hope we hear more soon!

D&D (2024) D&D Marilith Is Far More Bestial In 2025

Why does anyone believe this art replaces all other art of mariliths? This exaggeration would obviously make one unhappy.

Ah, I see how this thread became the way it is.

D&D (2024) D&D Marilith Is Far More Bestial In 2025

Yeah, to me, it's just one artists interpretation. We have dozens more we can use. It's such a shame that so many on the forums are so entrenched in the idea of a singular representation of a single monster.

D&D (2024) D&D Marilith Is Far More Bestial In 2025

Poor Marilith. She doesn't wear her makeup one day and people are upset.

D&D General If we were re-designing the Tiny Hut-esc 'instant shelter' spells what would we change?

I don’t mind magic skipping some survival aspects. I would just remove the forcefield aspect from Tiny Hut, make it about safe shelter from the elements while being hidden, not a defensive position.

D&D 5E Which was the most recent Wizards adventure you consider a classic?

I know this is useless, but I FEEL like Witchlight will be a classic. It's an adventure for a different group of our community than the earlier ones. I only buy adventures after they've been out for a long while, when the community has looked at it, tasted it, chewed it out and spat it out...

    D&D (2024) 2024 MM - Winners and Losers

I get that, for immersion sake, the Lich should have a big list of spells. After all, they have the motivation and the time to learn all of them. But a stat block at the table? I much rather have this. PC’s just have too many abilities and power to push through and nuke a lich. The old one...

D&D 5E Why Do Higher Levels Get Less Play?

Scheduling should have been at the top of this list.

D&D Movie/TV Netflix Planning Forgotten Realms D&D TV Show With Stranger Things Producer

Cool, let's hope it turns out well. I don't need a series to enjoy my hobby more, but a good fantasy series is always welcome. I'm just not sure if they can pull it off. Game of Thrones jumped the shark, Rings of Power didn't work for me and I couldn't get into The Witcher. Those are some of...

D&D General Favorite Less Used Low CR Creatures?

Magmin! Evil critters who are perfect little fire minions. Plus they explode!

D&D (2024) Wrapping up first 2-20 2024 campaign this week, some of my thoughts

Hey folks can we cool down a bit? ECM03 is sharing their experiences, which is a really nice thing to do. Yes they might play the game differently than you do. Take away from that what you will. I already learned that I should not give players free reign to pick magic items, and I'll need to...

D&D (2024) Wrapping up first 2-20 2024 campaign this week, some of my thoughts

Yeah it will be fine at tier 3-4, but earlier than that and it causes issues. Mostly because it's always the AC stacking character who tries to get it, making a huge AC imbalance.

D&D (2024) Wrapping up first 2-20 2024 campaign this week, some of my thoughts

Your experience isn't the same as mine. I am happy this is not an issue at your table. I don't care what is intended. I care about my experience at my table.

D&D (2024) Wrapping up first 2-20 2024 campaign this week, some of my thoughts

+3 AC at late tier 2 would ruin my encounter design. Yes, damage is king, but I don't think you see how terrible every combat is when the monsters just can't hit a PC. It lowers the stakes and makes a fight boring. I have been there. Every fight I went through the motions of monsters...
