No there isn't. None of the magic items that affects movement, ability checks, saving throws, AC or any other effects that is added to the gear section on CSII does not update your character stats automatically. The start tab has overrides that allow those changes to be made manually

Telling us that it won't save and when you try you get an error message doesn't really tell us anything. We need additional information. What version are you using? Are you utilizing "Save As" and renaming the file? what type of file are you saving it as? Screen shots of the issues can help...

First, you should update to V2.22 it addresses issues that have been found in all other previous versions & builds. Second, what you are looking for is located on CS I, in the proficiency area. Finally third, there are errors in build 7 that was addressed in the later builds.
