Only one level "ding" per adventure (or was it per session?) in the old rules though, and you needed to train for those levels. Extra expo is lost if it would bring you higher then one point below the next "ding". So to catch up you'll be fairly useless to the party for the first 5-6...

There is a lot for this site to consider. Addressing rumors is one thing... posting confirmed leaks from playtesters under NDA is another. If ENWorld wishes to remain close with WotC I expect they will refrain from encouraging people to violate their NDAs.

Pathfinder APs are 6 books long IIRC. That means at least one more 3.5 AP from Paizo... more likely 2 APs before they switch to 4e.

People buy books all the time without a preview. People buy computer games / console games all the time without a preview. People buy RPGs all the time without previews. There might be reviews from people that have seen a pre-release version of the product, but they are usually light on...

Well, Gandalf is a servant of a godlike being... he is more then man and his power is more then just that of a wizard. As for Aragorn if any of the party is highly skilled besides Gandalf it would be him. In any case, my point is that Epic levels do not make "Epic" adventures ;)

The only epic level character in the main party in LoTR is Gandalf.... Aragorn is also a possible. The rest of the party was not epic IMHO (in the standard DnD definition). Epic levels do not an "Epic" make.
