Tell me about "Of Sound Mind" (Spoilers Hopefully)

Well, it's not just you, I tried to find it and it doesn't seem to be there, either by dedicated search or by going through all the Fiery Dragon listings. Likewise, the Available Now links from FDP's own site don't point to it either (the White Wolf link doesn't work at all, and the DriveThru...

help requested with Forge of Fury's big bad vs. a huge party (spoilers)

Okay, this is great. To those that asked, Nightscale is young as published in the module, but I will definately be bumping him up a bit, most likely to young adult. Sandain/jasper - melting the ladder/bidge/ledge out from under them -- good idea. Stone Agnel - Draconomicon? -- check. Moogle...

Serpent Kingdoms - What Are You Doing With It?

Sorry, Darrin, but I'm another one who's just got it sitting on the shelf. I do think it's a great book, but I'm not running FR anymore, and really just picked it up since it covers some parts of the Realms that were never detailed before. Though I don't have any plans to return to the Realms...

help requested with Forge of Fury's big bad vs. a huge party (spoilers)

Yes, boys and girls, it's time once again for the bi-monthly Forge of Fury thread. This time around, we're talking about the big bad at the end of the module. Naturally, spoilers will abound so if you're planning to play this module and don't want anything given away, you better walk away...

Boston EN World game day on Saturday, January 29th

I'd just like to add in my voice to the chorus of thanks to all involved - hosts, GMs, players, and bearers of food and drink. I had a great time in Cappellan's Spazeship Zero (qualidar, your monkey doctor was priceless) and in Piratecat's Eversink game (love the urban intrigue).

    Music Tastes

The three of them perform "Even Cowgirls Get the Blues" on that Blue Kentucky Girl album that I was just talking about, but other than that, no. This is the first Emmylou Harris album that I've picked up, previously most of my exposure to her was via Gram Parsons. And more recently, she sings...

City of the Spider Queen? Any good?

To be fair, the adventure was only released two and a half years ago (Sep 2002).

    The party disbands because...?

I had a FR campaign going when I was at UMass that broke up because everyone failed out. Okay, not everyone -- myself and one other player did not fail, but the other six players did. On the upside, it forced us to start over, so I ran a short lived Dark Sun campaign that was a blast while it...

Races of Eberron Cover Art and Petition

Because Amazon & Wizards both only posted a front cover, so if these other pieces even exist, they're not readily available.

No problem, that's certainly understandable. Good luck with the move! Piratecat, now that you're running D&D for us, let me know if you need me to bring anything - minis (I've got a pretty decent selection these days), any extra books (besides the obvious PHB), or anything else.

Grasp of the Emerald Claw map gallery

Yeah, Joshua, I mourn the loss of boxed sets as well. The difference is that the one you have doesn't show any cities, roads, lightning rail routes, or other local features, whereas the one coming with the DM's screen is supposed to. Yeah, I agree that maps should be function over form...

Races of Eberron Cover Art and Petition

from Amazon.com: Some folks over on the WotC boards had the same idea and sounded serious about it, but they haven't come up with an image of the binding face or back cover.

    Dungeon Subrciption Rate

I don't believe you can order a subscription through anyone but Paizo, so I think you're stuck with whatever they're currently offering. Sometimes they offer special rates, but unless you have someone on the inside there, I'm not sure how you could know when. That said, Dungeon is flying high...

Grasp of the Emerald Claw map gallery

I completely agree that it should have been in the original campaign setting, but there's nothing that can be done about it now. But at least it will be available this summer to those that purchase the Eberron DM' screen.

Grasp of the Emerald Claw map gallery

Well, they may not be artsy, but they're plenty functional, and it's cool of them to throw them up as downloads. At any rate, they're done by Dennis Kauth, and yes, that's about the same level of map quality in the other Eberron adventures. Maybe they think they're pulpy? Who knows. The...

Races of Eberron Cover Art and Petition

Not for me. I agree that the amount of rehashed material in the Complete series is preposterous, but this example is fine. Just four pages, and it makes the book much easier to use. Flipping back and forth between two books is a pain in the rear. And now, if I was starting an Eberron...

Do you know which issues those were in? I think they came out at a time in which I was too busy to get a lot of Dungeon reading in, but I wouldn't mind going back now and checking them out.

No problem, PC. Though I'm looking forward to Deadlands, I'm sure it'll be plenty of fun either way.

    'Known World' - OD&D

You reall think so Whizbang? I thought that the Poor Wizard's Almanacs were excellent. As far as I was concerned, they bubbled overwith cool plot ideas and hooks. Rogueattorney, the last PWA was published in 1994 as an AD&D product and was still pretty cool as far as I can remember, though I...

    Hexes or Squares?

I strongly prefer to draw a map without a grid and just have their players move as they would without counting spaces. Usually if there's a question, the player will ask "can I get this far?" and I'll eyeball it. If it's important enough we can grab a ruler, but it's rare that this happens...
