Thank you ENWorlders (Monster Manual 3)

It actually is quite good on its own anyway, but one of the advantages that it has over its 3rd party competition is that as an official book, the monsters from it have a chance of being made into minis or featured in Dungeon adventures.

    Alternatives to WotC Minis

...or one without a long beard. Non-Gandalf looking wizards are hard to find, especially younger ones like those featured in most adventuring parties. Reaper has started cranking out a few, but they're still a minority.

    FLGS in Seattle

Where are you in Seattle? You mentioned Discordia, are you living in Kitsap? If so, pickings are slim. When I lived there, in Olalla in 1998, besides Discordia (which was pretty wargamey at the time, without many RPGs), there was a WotC store in Silverdale mall, though I bet that's gone...

Differences between Mordenkainen’s Fantastic Adventure and Dungeon's Maure Castle

Just a quick bump for the morning crowd, someone must be familiar with both versions.

Hospitality in Gaming or Gaming in Hospitality?

I mostly agree with ThoughBubble. Running a game takes way too much prep to pretend that when I invite friends over for it I'd be satisfied to hang out and do whatever. However, everyone in my gaming group are friends and hang out anyway, and I do invite them over to casually hang plenty of...

Differences between Mordenkainen’s Fantastic Adventure and Dungeon's Maure Castle

Differences between Mordenkainen’s Fantastic Adventure and Dungeon's Maure Castle hi everyone, I never got a chance to pick up Mordenkainen’s Fantastic Adventure back in the day, and so far, haven't had a chance to peruse the new version of Maure Castle in Dungeon 112 either, though I own that...

    Settling the Anarouch/Great Glacier debate.

I've never heard of that being the origin of Evermeet and the Moonshaes. Where's it from? Just curious.

    Settling the Anarouch/Great Glacier debate.

It might have something to do with the 1991 accessory Anauroch and novel The Parched Sea. Though Anauroch clearly describes the separate sections of the desert as being ecologically distinct, both it and the novel make the Sword (the hot, sandy part) their main focus. And the addition of the...

    Hodgepodge Pantheons

Really? I haven't looked at the gods of Krynn in quite some time, but I had never noticed this. What culture/cultures' mythology are they based on?

Do you own a set of "crystal" dice?

That's an awful lot of options for a yes or no poll. How many ways do we need to express our dislike? As for me, I'v never really used them, and don't particularly care to, but they don't upset me.

How many countries have you visited?

    1. U.S. 2. Canada 3. Italy 4. Vatican City 5. France 6. Monaco 7. U.K. (England & Scotland) 9. Ireland And I'm pretty sure that I've passed through a bit of Switzerland on a train but don't count it because I didn't get off and touch ground.

    The Complete Sneak?

The title Complete Adventurer was a bad choice for this book, it's certainly caused a lot of confusion.

The Hidden Shrine of Tamoachan - your experiences?

Sorry Quas, I hate to encourage him, but I like the old one better too (the tan one, not the blue).

WotC is going ebook at DrivethruRPG...

There are absolutely no signs pointing to that happening.

Just discovered Dark Sun -- have questions!

Everyone loves to play monks? Really? In twenty years of playing D&D, I've yet to encounter anyone who wanted to play a monk. Seriously though, I agree, the everything and the kitchen sink model of campaign design has got to go. Are people really up in arms because there's a...

Just discovered Dark Sun -- have questions!

Another source for a quick summary of the changes inflicted by the novels is Beyond the Prism Pentad, the last (IIRC) accesory to come out before the revised boxed set. It contains an eight page summary of the events in the Prism Pentad novels. That said, I don't particularly recommend that...

    Music Tastes

I like these two aspects of country, but I don't go for most of what gets played on current country stations. For bluegrass, I heartily recommend to anyone the Rhino records compilation Appalachian Stomp: Bluegrass Classics. The second volume, Appalachian Stomp: More Bluegrass Classics it not...

Could the D20/OGL end up hurting WoTC?

I don't know whether or not the d20/OGL licenses are good or bad for WotC, and won't bother guessing. But I will pipe in on the what happens when I go into the store debate going on between Mearls, Pramas, and others. For me, there is a gaming budget. No, it's not exact, but generally I spend...
