Elf High Mage (Magic Item Cost)

Making a plethora of magic items for themselves at that point is probably not that much of a problem (they're still gonna be somewhat lower level items), and as far as possibly selling those items, well, who the heck is gonna buy a truck load of epic items? While it could potentially be a...

    D&D 4E 4e Dungeon Master's Screen - whoa

Can anyone take a pic of the screen folded out and post it here (just wanna see how tall/wide it is)? I'd really like to see what it looks like unfolded before my amazon order finally gets here. ;)

    [Adventurer's Vault] Problematic Items

You sure picked a great thread to decide if you want the book or not; a thread which is supposed to point out bad items or items that need errata. Personally, I think the book is awesome, and well worth buying. Unlike say the MIC of ye olde 3.x days, I can see quite a few different items...

Your PC is a cleric: what deity do you revere?

That's who my cleric worships, I really think that evil gods should be included in the poll.

    Wizard class-feature houserule

Well, I've seen two completely different wizards in the campaigns my group has played so far, and more importantly, I've seen both be very effective at what they do. It may not always be terribly interesting, but it's not ineffective by any means, so that's why I think the wizard is really...

    Wizard class-feature houserule

Well, I was going for something simple and not unbalancing, whereas that doesn't even remotely take balance into consideration.

    Wizard class-feature houserule

Oh for the life of me, no! We really need something other than the 'same as a wizard, only more picky' thing this time around. I though about that already, but it would be a bit too attractive as a feat for me. That, and the fact that I hate it when all the wizard's toys are tied up in...

    Wizard class-feature houserule

I've recently been thinking about different ways to spice the wizard up, without necessarily changing anything too prominent; subtle and effective is more my style. One of the main issues I have with him is basically that he lacks a defining class feature which forces him to be creative, so to...

Barbarian Class in this month's Dragon !

Personally, I'd like to see a striker who uses huge weapons to smash face, since we really don't have that now. The barbarian is pretty much the definition of that, and while I wouldn't have any problems with him being a defender, I think it'd be a shame to have huge weapons once again fall into...

Experiences with the updated Skill Challenge?

My party went through a level appropriate complexity 3 challenge a few days, using the new DCs and system, and we made it through with one failure, thanks to decent dice and some clever use of secondary skills (and primary ones for that matter). We pretty much found out that those DCs work well...

Characters of War up at Wizards

Theoretically, if you have every character only participate when he's awesome at something, you should do well. Practically, that's very unrealistic and hardly any fun. In a social encounter, it makes sense for only those people who have decent social skills to use those to try and succeed...

Characters of War up at Wizards

It's really hard to suck in 4E unless you're purposely picking the worst options there are. If your definition of suck is not having any skill above +10 at first level, then there's really no point in discussing this. Why exactly would it be a bad thing for a fighter to have a decent intimidate...

Characters of War up at Wizards

So he can have a interesting character instead of a one-size-thumps-all? If anything, all of those bonuses give people who do things which aren't mainstream for their class cool bonuses, or a way to balance themselves out a bit. The other side of the coin is the skill monkey, who can have +15...

    NEW TRAPS article!

You missed it, it's under designing your own traps: It's not a ruleset for minion traps, but it does tell you what they are in general.

    D&D 4E D&D 4E Tips/Tricks/Advice

You should make sure your players have decent character sheets to use, since the generic ones leave a lot to be desired (in the eyes of many, at least). You can find a lot of good character sheets in this thread, although you need to read the entire thread for all of them.

    Custom Character Sheets?

Heh, that's not what I meant, I was just saying that few people use Corel nowadays. Most tend to stick to the Adobe suite, since it has everything you could need, without compatibility issues. Corel can be a bit temperamental in that regard. ;)

    Custom Character Sheets?

Personally, I use Corel for my char sheet, CorelDRAW specifically, since I tend to stick to vector design, and little or no images. Since this is far from the norm however, Illustrator is probably the best place to get started for you. :)

    Unbalanced striker extra damage?

If anything, I'd say the Ranger got the short end of the stick, striker-damage-bonus wise, in that he wants to target the guys at the back, but has to target the closest foe to him, and can have only one such person designated at any time, if he wants the extra damage. With a bit of positioning...
