New Rogue Build found in Compendium - Ruthless Thug

Blast! Beaten to the Warlord! Here's an interesting note too. Look up "Bard" and "Assassin"

New Rogue Build found in Compendium - Ruthless Thug

It's still there. Just read through the Rogue entry. Not only that, but there is also another bold heading just below the description of the Ruthless Thug: THIEF-ACROBAT No description, just a headline (off to search through the other classes). Scoop inside a scoop!

    Targeting through allies.

As far as I can tell, there is nothing to stop you from firing arrows at a kobold surrounded by your buddies. It's part of the over simplification of the game, (also existed in 3e BTW) that I'm not fond of. It would be easy to house rule the old -4 for firing into melee or pulling the cover...

Myconians -New Format, New Paragon Path!

I'm not a big number cruncher so I don't have a good feel for how things balance in 4e yet, but I love that line :D There was an NPC Myconian with a Wand of Fireballs in one of my 1st edition campaigns named Melf the Mushroom... it may be time for him to make another appearance!

    Collected Core Handbook Errata

I suspect the error will be page 232 since there is no mention of throwing a spear in the fluff either. I suspect they were simply trying to differentiate between the spear and javelin. There are many examples in history where the spear was considered a melee weapon only. I agree that you...

    What is wrong with 4E?

I am disappointed by the core books as well. I know there will be piles of books with mountains of options in the future, but I also generally avoid buying all of the splat books. The three core books will be good for a campaign or two, but then the characters will become copies of those that...

    What is wrong with 4E?

My 1st edition books are 30 years old and the pages are still flat... ;)

    Tissue-Paper Dungeons?

Players who decide to use the approach of smashing down every door are metagaming, assuming the DM will meekly present them with their next N-Level encounter. If PC's try this in my dungeon, besides allowing the monsters in the room to get ready and send for help, it will draw every monster...

    shuriken a superior weapon?

Heh, that's true for LOTS of stuff in 4e. I'm just going to try and roll with all of it for a while. I'll start cutting things up after I've run a decent amount of games, but I did the same thing with earlier editions.

    Dmg

I am among those who unexpectedly received my books early. I am primarily a DM and I have to say the DMG is one of the best versions released. I haven't had time to much more than flip through the books, but DMG focuses heavily on running the game and developing a campaign. Ok, duh! That...

World setting, and your upcoming plans...

I use CorelDraw. Everything was created on the computer using freehand tools for the most part. Unfortunately, it is not easily duplicated unless you have some experience with graphics software.

World setting, and your upcoming plans...

I have my own campaign world, the Realm of Quindia, that I've been running games in for more than 25 years. Before converting it to 4e however, I want to make sure that I'm going to make the switch. My long time players are split 50/50 about the new game. I decided to create an island far to...

How big will my character sheet be?!

I plan to make my own character sheet and use power cards in conjunction. The actual sheet will only list the names of the powers while the card will contain the game mechanics.

    How do wandering merchants survive?

People are saying that only the merchant you're PC's deal with is high level, carries magic items, and enough cash to buy the same from players. That was the same kind of answer I got when I asked what happens when PCs figure out the merchant has more loot than the monsters in the dungeons too...

    Excerpt: Economies [merged]

That is the problem with the system. If the PCs play nice, the merchant has enough gold to buy whatever they are trying to sell and just happens to have some magic items of his own to unload. If the PC's go rogue, suddenly the merchant is a simple peddler or surrounded by umpteenth level...

How long will it be before UNALIGNED PC's realize that merchants have far more magic items and cash than the monsters?
