For me, it really depends on the settings. I've also heard some rumblings about the system, but nothing major.

I heard that they're going to skip 4th edition altogether and create a 5th edition instead. I heard it from Larry, the local store owner. He also said that WotC is getting bought out from White Wolf. Larry should know, he operates a game store after all.

I think one of the reasons is that too many companies are creating toolboxes rather than creating tools. 1. Rather than viewing 27 different Necromancer prestige classes, how about a book that gives you the tools to create your own prestige classes, along with solid advice to keep everything...

It's out there and it's in pdf form. Has anyone here taken a look at it? Though it's somewhat incomplete, I think the original author has laid down a solid foundation for a Rifts d20 game. I might just fine tune it for my own use. For those who have seen it, what do you think?
