Pathfinder 1E Paizo no longer publishing Dungeon and Dragon

Holly cow! I've just read it on WotC pages. And although I wasn't buying the magazines (I can't - no distribution here) except for few interesting occasions (begging someone to bring them from holidays to more civilized countries) I feel depressed and alienated. I feel that these magazines are...

    Monte Cook's World of Darkness

Anyway, I am really surprised, how very little we actually know about this release. Maybe I am just accustomed to the opened information flow from WotC, but I would expect at least some tidbit of information so that the fans would create a row in pre-ordering the stuff. Hell, in 4 months it...

[Venting] I feel a bit dirty...

Alignment is good thing, but I would like to see more effects on actual game... current alignment thing is kind of half-baked. Yes, we have this nice concepts and except for some minor bonuses/protections and magical weapons stuff it is not doing much. Something which would motivate you to...

Star Wars Saga Edition [SECR] Preview #3 is Up

I see. (Well although I understand the possible reason... in range 1-20 on d20 the middle is 10.5), but still it is not good if you wants to let players roll the dice instead of take the fix number (as it was possible with AC). First thing, I will not like it seems. Ok. Thanks a lot for point...

Star Wars Saga Edition [SECR] Preview #3 is Up

Very unprobable and unwise. The whole concept of d20 system is based on some general assumptions like hidden "take 10" in AC (that's that 10+). If there is some fix number against a roll it is 10 + something because that is the aplication of the "take 10" principle. d20 system is decimal. You...

Star Wars Saga Edition [SECR] Preview #3 is Up

Another wild guess... what if the "half of the level" bonus applies to just all dice rolls? And even to the Defenses (as they are acutally Dice rolls too just with take 10 inside). It could improve the reverese engineering thing with stats.

Star Wars Saga Edition [SECR] Preview #3 is Up

Rather equal to Fortitude. Yeah. It seems so. And I have one idea, that striked me right now. What if the Defense progression is the same as attack progression. It would made sense (because lower progression would prefere the attacker and higher would prefer the defender). Than it might be...

Star Wars Saga Edition [SECR] Preview #3 is Up

I am bit surprised, why Death Star Trooper has marked the Human bonus feat and trained skill, but nor Han Solo neither Jensaarai Defender hasn't, although they are humans as well. Why is that? Is this marked in nonheroic characters only, or is it oversight?

Are we sure we need a skill guy?

Either that, or you can use two "classes" from Call of Cthulhu d20 - Defensive and Offensive. Deffensive - slower BAB progression, 2 good saves Offensive - faster BAB progression, 1 good save It is universal enough and still gives a choice. (Choice is important for some players...)

Are we sure we need a skill guy?

Well... and aren't they... actually... archetypes. As some of the previous contributors to the discussion pointed out, the question is too wide to be answered properly. The mechanics as they are need the skill-guy, because the were made with the skill guy in mind. But with some tweeking, you...

D&D 4E Star Wars Saga Edition as preview of 4e?

Actually it might be not as irrational as it seems. The ability number work as a kind of "hit points" by itself. As long as some spells/abilities will be increasing or decreasing abilities via dice roll (aka -1d6 Con) you have to have appropriate range of these "ability hit points". Yes... it...

    D&D: Saga Edition?

Currently in D&D yes. But do they have to be? Especially with the talent trees? I used the names of the classes not because I like them in DnD 3e (especially not the monk) but because I didn't have the better name. Look into the D20 modern for 6 character concept - for each ability. It give...

Star Wars Saga Edition [SECR] Preview #2 is Up

I apologize, because I feel I should know, but I admit I don't. What does the [SECR] stands for? Saga Edition Core Rules or what???

D&D 4E Star Wars Saga Edition as preview of 4e?

Well... we haven't seen everything (especially the talent trees might make a lot of mess with otherwise simple system), but as far as one can tell from current information the game is going to make d20system more lite. Which is good (if it is not too lite), but the players also require growing...

    D&D: Saga Edition?

The problem with less classes is, that too few of them means you don't need them at all. I think that 4 is really the lowest possible variant, but 5 is better and 6 is optimal. And magical abilities might be available to everyone, just some classes would be better with it (thanks to talent...

D&D 4E Star Wars Saga Edition as preview of 4e?

Initiative as skill. Yes!!! Great idea. Simple and perfect! I love the designers! And I desperately want this in D&D 4e!!!

Help! Intrigue, conspiracy, France, Russia and steam tech!

Well... what exactly is the quasi-renaissance in that setting? Surely not the Industrial Revolution (which is 18th - 19th century) neither steam engine (late 17th /early 18th century). I am not suggesting, that you can't mix these things, just make yourself more in touch with the true...
