    Better: Duskblade or Duskblade/Wizard/Ultimate Magus?

Aha, I see the problem. No, a 13+ level Duskblade channeling a spell with a full attack enacts the spell fully each time they hit in that round. If the spell has a duration longer than 1 round or allows for plenty of touches (like, say, Chill Touch) the spell still expires at the end of the...

What I Learnt From Last Night's Session

We have had the same experience at our gaming table as many others have had: horses do not last. Moreover, horses named after Prince songs are particularly doomed.

    Does Spell Resistance stack?

It doesn't stack - you just use the highest value that applies. Very much like DR in that regard.

Poll: Would you ever take this feat as a PC?

Aah okay. That's not nearly so bad compared to the Once And Only Once nature of the proposed feat here, then.

Poll: Would you ever take this feat as a PC?

Can't really say, as I'm not familiar with the Action Point rules. How many Action Points does a character have and how do they accrue? Because if you just get one or two at the outset and you can never gain any more, then no I wouldn't touch a feat that required their use with a ten foot pole.

    Better: Duskblade or Duskblade/Wizard/Ultimate Magus?

Oh, and you miss out on a bunch of Quick Cast iterations. Free Quicken = yes please. Really what I'm trying to say is that a hybridized Duskblade: -Has a +10 BAB... ...Which is 1 point lower than a Bard's BAB. -Has, including the 14 con and a +4 con item an average of 113 hp... ...Which is...

    Better: Duskblade or Duskblade/Wizard/Ultimate Magus?

Arcane Channeling (Full Attack). It's the cherry on the Duskblade sundae, and you miss out on it unless you've got 13 levels of the class under your belt. A ranger is a full BAB class, it'd have +15. A monk would have a +11. As would a bard. What I'm trying to say is that by straight BAB...

Poll: Would you ever take this feat as a PC?

Nope. It's a one-shot, then it's used up. A feat represents a significant investment. You only ever get so many, after all. A feat that at some point is expended is a rather harsh cost, even if it does prevent you from dying. Edit: Plus there's nothing stopping whatever it is that put you...

    Better: Duskblade or Duskblade/Wizard/Ultimate Magus?

Stay straight Duskblade. A Duskblade/Wizard/Ultimate Magus would be both a crappy melee combatant and a crappy caster. By the RAW, yep, you can. "...you can use a standard action to cast any touch spell you know and deliver the spell through your weapon with a melee attack." A...

What do your players do with thier dead foes?

Fair enough. There've been three times in the game in question where resurrection's been actively prevented. Once via making the dead guy into a skeleton and then sealing it into a stone sarcophogas and kept on hallowed ground. The other two were via barghest, contacted via Lesser Planar...

Yep, which is precisely why I did so. :D

What do your players do with thier dead foes?

Now this is actually someone else's character we're discussing, so I can't go into full depth regarding his motivations, etc as I'm going off observational evidence. I am curious though - what is it that pegs him at the far end of the scale in your view? Willing association with an evil...

What do your players do with thier dead foes?

Heh, I wouldn't go so far as to say irrevocably evil, but the wizard in question IS definitely of situational morality. Best tool for the job, believes in intellectual utilitarianism over traditional good and evil, believes in the use of evil tools for good ends, etc, etc. Comes out as mostly...

We need a cool new name for character optimizers...

"Optimizers" is the cool new term. The old ones were a lot less flattering. Besides, 'ur-priesthood' makes little to no sense. Using it as a prefix basically is saying you're a member of the proto-priesthood. Sorry, vetoed.

What do your players do with thier dead foes?

Most bodies are left to rot, unless either: A) The deceased has earned a degree of respect, in which case he'll usually get a proper send off of some sort. B) The nature of the current undertaking requires a certain degree of discretion, in which case the body will be concealed or disposed of...

Putting Corpses in the Bag of Holding

Yes. Oh yes. Done it often. Even briefly had a 'bag of kidnapping' with its own air supply and a widemouth top. I'm actually just waiting for players in my game to spring the ol' bag the bodies routine on me. Oh it'll be fun. Corpses, as a point of course, are rarely tidy things. Not...

Would the bard have been better off as a non spontaneous caster?

I'm actually not a big fan of the 'you only know X spells' model in the first place. I shy away from most spontaneous casting classes because there's always the doubt in my mind that I'm going to be kicking myself in the ass because I've run into a particular situation and bemoan "if only I'd...

Bard/Druid. Not only does it thematically jive, but there isn't a single damn thing you can't do at least reasonably well.

What are the best Planar Bindings?

I've always been a fan of things with class levels, but the OK on that one varies from DM to DM. Likewise templates. I tend more toward you compact with -Outsider X- instead of just ... any random outsider, whomever happens to pick up the phone. I actually used to have a list of beings for...
