    D&D 5E Hard Mode Campaigning

Make several difficulty levels of combat. Such as Standard, Tough, and TPK. Standard is the combat you plan on. Tough is 50% more creatures or hp. TPK is 100% more creatures or hp.

    Cincinnati OH, Looking for more

We're a northern Cincinnati based group looking to add a few individuals to our group. We are currently playing board games until we have enough to begin a 5E game.

    D&D 5E Have you played 5E yet?

My group has been playing board games and are waiting several months before we bother with D&D again. 4E kind of killed our group for a while. I expect that we'll revisit the topic in a few months after we get the collective opinions of ENWorld and others after the shiny newness of 5E has worn...

D&D 5E Are you coming back to D&D from another GAME SYSTEM? (theoretically?)

We stopped playing for a year, then came back to 2E for nearly a year before we realized that none of us were going to be happy. One of us wanted to play PF, another DCC, another 3.5 E6, another 2E still, and also 4E essentials. And there were probably more. We ended up just saying eff-it and...

D&D 5E What Would You Give Up For A Cheaper PHB?

A lot less artwork would be acceptable to me. Having a picture on 2 out of every 3 pages is overkill.

What are your D&D plans for 2014?

My group's plans are still very up in the air. We're currently running 2E, but the nostalgia is wearing off. We will never go back to 4E. Some would like to switch to Pathfinder, but money and time are an issue. I wouldn't mind a 3.5 E6 campaign. But we have one player who is utterly against...

Is it possible that 2nd edition could make a very popular come back?

What we will play is very up in the air. 5E depends on the finished product. There is a level of mistrust in our group with WotC. Anything having to do with 3E is 50/50. We have one player who is pretty against it, but he can be reasoned with. Any other OSR type game is unlikely due to money...

Is it possible that 2nd edition could make a very popular come back?

It's a long story, but yes, we only play D&D. Between money and no consensus of interest in other games, that's how it is. Because I detested 4E, even after giving it a very fair chance, and I couldn't get the group to agree on an alternative, I took a break. Then one person left, then another...

Is it possible that 2nd edition could make a very popular come back?

My group collapsed because we didn't care for 4E (described it as a good rpg, but it wasn't D&D to us). Not long ago we reformed and started playing again using the 2E rules. It's been fun, but it was definitely nostalgia versus 2E being the game we'll play for awhile. We're casually discussing...

Ex-WotC Employees Weigh in on the No M:tG RPG Debate

I find this all pretty interesting. The corporate stuff is not the least bit surprising to me though. It's prevalent in a lot of bigger corporations. Where on the timeline does the acquisition by Hasbro fit in to this?

Serious question - are you going to invest in D&DNext?

I honestly don't know. Curiosity + a D&D lover versus the ghosts of 4E. I want to buy it and give it a fair shake, but I still feel so burned by 4E. As far as I know, a lot of the people who made 4E are making 5E. I joined in on a single playtest a few months ago and it still felt way too much...

    all things orcish

I'll add another vote for this book. It's a very good write up of how a chaotic evil society works. They wrote a bit about how newborns have to be separated from their mothers for a short while, because the mothers can get a bit too hungry...

    D&D 5E Skill Challenges in 5E

I'd be perfectly ok with skill challenges disappearing in 5E when it comes to role-playing aspects of the game.

D&D 4E Which 4E adventures did you play?

We ran the first two released. Keep on the Shadowfell was ok, but nothing special. Thunderspire Labyrinth was not good and we opted to not run the 3rd or any other WotC 4E modules.

    Are we fair to WotC?

I feel I've judged WotC/Hasbro extremely fairly. From every positive nod to every acidic, hate-filled rant, they've earned it.

D&D 3E/3.5 Which DnD3E 'Premium' reprint would you like to see next?

Put me up for another Rules Cyclopedia vote.

    Alright, so level with me...

If WotC/Hasbro feels that the risk/reward/time would yield a sufficient profit, some 4E things will be released in the future. As for right now, it's probably winding down.

    Who's Yo Daddy?

Perhaps humans are the results of the other races breeding.
