WOTC undecided over OGL/GSL. Why you should care

Sure, but it doesn't prevent products that are undesireable in other ways, such as being bad in general. Er, the customer base not being any bigger than when the OGL was released. The industry's not growing. How does owning Mongoose's Lone Wolf help me build a better fighter in my Midnight...

WOTC undecided over OGL/GSL. Why you should care

Yeah. Getting worried because a 9 to 5 employee hasn't made an official response on an unofficial forum over the weekend is taking it just a bit too far... Seanchai

WOTC undecided over OGL/GSL. Why you should care

Yes. But it also creates additional players in the marketplace. (I would say "additional competitors," but they're not really.) And these additional companies can adversely affect D&D's image (i.e., Book of Erotic Fantasy). I Except it doesn't draw in more customers. What we've got is what...

WOTC undecided over OGL/GSL. Why you should care

I can understand why you wouldn't. Nevertheless, it is in the publishers' best interests to convince the public to put pressure on WotC to release the GSL. It's great that you say you would never speak out against something for personal gain, but I don't know you personally, I live a commerical...

WOTC undecided over OGL/GSL. Why you should care

You know what happens when RPG consumers complain to RPG publishers about the lack of communication, inaccurate press releases, missed deadlines, etc.? They're giving a song and dance, told to stop whining, that they're lucking to be getting any product at all, and that they'll get whatever it...

WOTC undecided over OGL/GSL. Why you should care

To nitpick your nitpick, can you really be a customer of his if he doesn't have any product to sell you? At this point, you're someone who intends to buy something he plans to produce. Seanchai

WOTC undecided over OGL/GSL. Why you should care

No. I'm not in business with you. I'm just a dude who buys gaming books and plays games with his friends. If Necromancer Games went out of business, it would not disrupt my life one whit. I'd just buy Paizo or Green Ronin products instead. Or White Wolf ones. Or maybe ones from a company that...

WOTC undecided over OGL/GSL. Why you should care

A more apt question might be: If every single player/DM who was vocal on gaming forums suddenly boycotted WotC, would they notice? Seanchai

WOTC undecided over OGL/GSL. Why you should care

Our place in line. I'm hoping I ordered early enough on Amazon to be among the first orders sent out. If I'm not and my FLGS has all their copies accounted for by pre-orders of their own, well... Seanchai

WOTC undecided over OGL/GSL. Why you should care

Personally, I don't find it scary at all. If the GSL or whatever they want to call it suddenly went away, well, shrug. I'll just buy something else. Seanchai

New Press Release Is Up http://www.palladiumbooks.com/press/press2006-06.html No monetary figures listed, but we're told: "As of this date, 1535 A Megaverse® United prints have been sold. We’re hoping to sell another 1500 by year's end." That many unlimited limited edition art prints comes...

Selling His Toys Mr. Siembieda is selling his toys. http://forums.palladium-megaverse.com/viewtopic.php?t=59381. Kind of makes me think there's not a solid distinction between his personal assets and his business assets. And the latest "progress report" is up...

Whille I admit my exposure to illegal PDFs is limited, but my exposure to PDFs made from the original art is extensive, and there's really a big difference. Particularly with vector-based elements. Scanning a book makes everything a raster image, which just isn't as clear and crisp. Seanchai

Super. I'll add him to my Christmas card list. Or, actually, I won't. Because I don't care what kind of person he is, I care what kind of business he runs. Because I'm a potential customer and someone they're asking money from, not a guy looking for a gaming buddy. Now I've seen some comments...

Again, not quite accurate. If you've ever seen an illegal PDF, you'll note their quality is bad. That's because they're scanned, not broken. Also, the wide-availability of illegal PDFs pre-dates the move to online PDF markets. That's because because do buy hardcopy books and scan them. All the...

But not in all of them. Thus in some circumstances, playtesting that's needed still isn't done... Dude, I own it and the first rulebook. It's not a revision, it's basically a reprint. Yes. Law suits come to mind... Look at their production values. They're made with the same technology my...

And the owner of the company was in the position to double check them. Before you tell me how trusted Sheiring was, who says Mr. Siembieda had to call for an audit because he didn't trust Sheiring? Current and ex-Palladium employees, along with customers, have mentioned things going wrong...
