    The Grand To-Do List

While I DM mostly, my list is only from things I'd like to do as a player. As a DM I get to do what I wish. :) There are a number of classes I have yet to play (like Artificer), but my top goal is to play a character above sixth level. In my four years since returning to D&D, I've yet to play...

    Mind-Altering Chemicals and D&D 3.5

The Eberron book, Sharn: City of Towers has a few drugs in it also. They can do things like boost divination spells or give bonuses to Dragonmark abilities (think magical tats). It also includes temporary ability damage and the possibility of overdoes and addiction.

So... is anyone else coming around?

Mixed here. One day I'll start to get excited, the next disappointed. I like most of the crunch we've heard so far. I have to see how the fighter class works yet since for me that is the keystone of all classes. Can they do it without giving the fighter magic? Will the fighter be balanced...

Pathfinder 1E Paizo, Kobolds, Aliens, and Saw

Yoink! Thank you. That will be an eye opener to a very overconfident group of adventurers.

    D&D 4E Casual DM - 4E made for ME

Agreed. If there is one thing that will drive me to 4e (and my players can follow if they wish) it will be if they follow through on their promise to make preparing and running medium to high level games easier.

    Reaper 9-25

Some of the "freak of the week" criticisms are due in part to the influence of serial shows like Lost, Heroes, and 24. Those shows have tightly scripted plots and secret information that is slowly handed out to the viewers. Reaper is more of a throwback show...you know the setup and they will...

My friend may end up winning Beauty & the Geek

No, it isn't a dating show really. The geeks are paired up with beauties, but not for romance. Now as it happens, this is the most successful reality show for spawning real-world relationships. Whether this is due to the fact that is isn't a dating show or in spite of it is a matter of opinion.

My friend may end up winning Beauty & the Geek

Well, Dave did win, congrats. And really, it isn't a huge amount of money. $250,000 between two people, after taxes is probably about $65,000 each. Not a bad sum, but not retirement money.

My friend may end up winning Beauty & the Geek

Dave went from someone who I didn't like very well at the beginning to the one that I'm now rooting for. He's really made a great effort to actually come out of his shell. One thing I've always wondered...how long are they in the house all together?

    D&D 4E Warforged might make 4E

:) That is what happens when I don't get enough sleep.

    D&D 4E Warforged might make 4E

The Gray Rectangle is a temple template that you apply to the good old Gel Cube...it most often can be found in areas where the cube finds itself eating mostly smoke mephits. I <3 the warforged, but leave them in the MM and out of the PHB.

    The Gnome Poll

Played a gnome thief in a FR game, the daily illusions were very fun. I have run many NPC gnomes in my Eberron game and love them.

    Will you buy 4th edition?

I shifted from "after a few reviews" to "probably not, but might eventually". I don't know, I'm just getting a bad feeling about it. What I've seen so far doesn't excite me. Plus the guys I play with are completely against it, so that doesn't help. I'll check out the SRD and reviews and I'll...

Heroes Death Pool: Writers Strike FINAL ROUND!

I'll be more specific... Nathan Elle (I don't want it to be Elle, but I think it will). Nathan is a hard one to figure out how, but he is a pretty obvious choice I think. Right now I'm not even sure where he is, but I can see him walking into the apartment with Matt where Mohinder and Sylar...

Heroes Death Pool: Writers Strike FINAL ROUND!

I hope you are right. I'm over Claire, give me more Elle.

Heroes Death Pool: Writers Strike FINAL ROUND!

Nathan - lesser character who has done little this season Elle - I know she isn't a hero, but she's toast. That's too bad because she's a blast.

    gave Chuck a second try...

Sure, those are valid differences, but look at the gross similarities: Geek Works at big box retailer Much of the show happens at work Cohorts share the same job Geek gets special powers/abiltiies from a friend/family member that he never wanted The powers are more of a curse than a blessing...

    gave Chuck a second try...

I haven't seen last night's episode yet, but I do enjoy this series. It and Reaper are very similar, but Chuck has recently overtaken Reaper for my top new show this year.

Heroes Season [Volume] 2 (#32)---11/19/07-'Cautionary Tales'

Interesting....I didn't pick up the "taken from her birth parents" part. I thought she was Bob's actual daughter but he allowed the Company to experiment on her, which pushed her abilities much farther than they would have developed. This also had the unintended consequence of somewhat...

Heroes Season [Volume] 2 (#32)---11/19/07-'Cautionary Tales'

I just thought of another way that this show is similar to Lost...everyone has daddy issues. :) This isn't an insult, but an interesting observation. The relationships with daddy aren't always so terrible as on Lost, but the Father-Child relationship is a key in many of the character's...
