    D&D 5E Negative constitution modifier

I wasn't trying to be ignorant, I was just trying to point out that this sounds like an issue where the OP was already in this predicament possibly because of these kinds of house rules already exist. To that, I've seen as many threads claiming that the standard 1hp minimum from older...

    D&D 5E Negative constitution modifier

Unless your in a campaign where all characters roll stats in order, no swap outs or extra rolls. Regardless of 4D6 drop lowest or straight 3D6 rolls you can wind up with a poor CON stat, not many people do it this way but generally using this character generation system the DM is prepared for an...

D&D 5E Options for the best archers

Yes, but you're multiclassing which means that you need to be fourth level before you get a lot of the base perks, which also cramps the speed you pick up SA dice, the Barbarian can also pick up a shield without compromising unarmored defense, and will prevent you from achieving the best perks...

D&D 5E Options for the best archers

True but it makes them more versatile because it means that even without a stacked Str your not completely useless in situations where you aren't/can't use your bow. I've played a few archers and never gotten away from down and dirty melee combat, you then get to make up that 2 points of damage...

    D&D 5E Magic Item Inconsistencies

I generally disregard the rarity scale, I tend to use encumbrance rules and try to give the players an opportunity to grab a bag of holding or a heward's handy haversack by third level so they can still carry around stuff without being weighed to the floor. The encumbrance is generally used in...

D&D 5E Options for the best archers

The barbarian archer isn't an obvious choice. However, super flexible. Think Legolas in the movies, a force to be reckoned with he can move through the fray at will to be where he is most needed, he heavily favors his bow but can get down and dirty with blades. The build I suggested with a feat...

D&D 5E Options for the best archers

Thank you, I fell in love with it after I thought it up, need to find a campaign to play it in now. hahahaha

D&D 5E Options for the best archers

It greatly depends on you DM's style. How often do you spot enemies before they ambush you? Do you often see things far off? Do you generally get in combat indoors or outdoors? If most encounters are outdoors then it's very useful.

    D&D 5E Some Questions

Thunderwave: Yes, this will shove even a massive dragon back ten feet. If the spell had effect limits based on size it would have been mentioned in the discription. Charm person: 1. The friend of my friend is?? an ambiguous acquaintance, clearly not hostile, or threatening. It will not trust...

D&D 5E Options for the best archers

I'm probably the only person that will throw this build at you, but here ya go: Human or Wood-Elf Barbarian at third level take the Totem Warrior path, select the Eagle totem powers at each totemic power selection. As a Barbarian archer, you will have your Dex and Con pumped, with Unarmored...

Does anyone have a recommendation for the best Virtual Tabletop program?

I keep my tapatalk on while I binge watch House. Weekends when my group can't get together and my girlfriend works are driving me insane

Does anyone have a recommendation for the best Virtual Tabletop program?

I've already downloaded the trial version and must admit the polish and potential functionality appeal to my nerdier, lazier and graphically rewarding brain

Does anyone have a recommendation for the best Virtual Tabletop program?

Sorry if I put this under the wrong prefix/wrong thread: Involved in a campaign where we are using a virtual tabletop as our DM lives two hours away from the rest of the group, was wondering if anyone here has any good experience with the virtual tabletop programs out there, so far we've been...

    D&D 5E Aimed Shots

The "called shot" a favorite among a lot of players I am familiar with a rule set for it but it's from a very mechanically broken game, actually their called shot rules are one of the only things that isn't totally broken. The rules are from Rifts/Palladium RPG, so when performing attacks...

D&D 5E Fast travel and renting mounts doubts

Ok, so I grew up on horses and we used to actually travel pretty long distances moving cattle by horse, I also once accepted a challenge to ride 100 km (62 miles) between two towns (we called it the Pony Express Charity Fundraiser) for a little background on my knowledge. The accepted method of...

D&D 5E Fast travel and renting mounts doubts

In societies where threats are imminent it's practical for them to have watch points and a standard road that they use to get from there to the nearest town/city to warn them of an onslaught, the only time you would find a horse placed every 8 - 10 miles is in a military circumstance. Your idea...

    D&D 5E Humans!?

The way it comes across to me is there is essentially three camps, playing non-humans for mechanics is fine, the more flavor added to that character the better, playing non-humans for mechanics is unnacceptable, being true to the race is most important, and playing non-humans is a no-go I don't...

    D&D 5E Humans!?

That was very well put. I would love to play in one of your games. I would even accept playing a human, I would love to see how you portray non-human npc's

    D&D 5E Humans!?

I started playing D&D in prison as a way to escape my bleak existence, as did most of the rest of my group, we are all out of prison now, and live fairly exiting lives but I still like to escape into the realm of fantasy and a big part of that is shedding my humanity for the fluff of races that...
