Online Gritty Sword and Sorcery Seeking Players

3d6 Str 10 Dex 14 Con 12 Int 14 Wis 9 Cha 13 I've never actually played 2e before, so I'd totally like to hop on. If I can play a demi-human, I'd totally love to do an Elven Mage/Thief. Otherwise, I don't mind playing a human Mage.

    D&D 2E 2e Ranger/Mage?

I can't think of any reason why you shouldn't be allowed to. You obtain very few extra spells, get perfect two-weapon fighting without requiring a high dex, a slightly better Tracking ability than what you can normally buy with proficiencies, along with some other minor abilities (+4 against a...

D&D 4E Convince me that 4e is worth my time

This is probably the easiest post to directly quote and respond to out of all of these. I was more or less hoping that there would be a random person who would say "Hey, 4e isn't so bad. It does these things right compared to other editions, like this over here. In fact, it does these things...

D&D 4E Convince me that 4e is worth my time

You know, it's a sad thing when I really haven't played many RPGs, and yet I like them so much. I blame D&D for this, since the shiny covers of the original three books graced the shelves of a now-defunct gaming shop. It was a wondrous thing looking at all of the races and classes and powers...

    BAB vs AC?

It's funny how when I take a look at pre-3e how huge of a boon an AC of 0 seems to be. I wonder what design decisions made running around sword-and-board with field plate less amazing?

    BAB vs AC?

Oh? How so? That...doesn't really change much aside from arcane casters getting a better AC and Fighters not having to use their money to buy any armor at 1st level. A lot of the UA stuff seems to be like that, in which it looks useful but otherwise only helps in less cases than you can count...

    BAB vs AC?

You know, BAB seems to scale with level while AC doesn't. I wonder why that is. Looking at monster stats vs PC progression, it seems that BAB completely beats out AC after a couple of levels, making wearing armor an almost moot point. Is this actually true through people's games? Our games...

    AD&D version 2.5?

Even if the site wasn't around, there's a PDF version of the CD-ROM floating all over the internet. "26 books" or something like that.

    AD&D version 2.5?

I'm fairly certain it's fair game to throw this link on the site: 2e Rules! - Loading... If not, just Google "purple worm 2e". It has much of the basic 2e books without graphics, including the 'option' series.

    AD&D ToEE Maps?

Hey there. Various PDFs I've picked up from various sources have broken maps as far as the fourth level and the elemental nodes are concerned regarding The Temple of Elemental Evil. Is there any way I can get JUST the maps, if possible?

    D&D 2E [2e] Weapon Damage

Ah, I must have missed that. I didn't realize that there was a category for the weapon's actual size and a category for how much damage a weapon does to various tagets. Still doesn't explain how a broadsword deals as much damage as a khopesh deals as much damage as a two handed bastard sword...

    Using Potions as Weapons

I'm fairly certain Castles and Crusades allows you to utilize items like "Potion of Fireball" to give yourself the ability to hold the charge of a spell for a round, which can make you seem like you're Mario at times. I don't see any issue with making potions have out-of-the-norm effects.

    D&D 2E [2e] Weapon Damage

I'm highly confused with this weapon damage chart in the PHB. Some weapons deal less damage when Larger than Medium or Small, and some weapons do absurd, illogical damage (A broadsword deals 2d4 damage, just like a two-handed bastard sword? And a khopesh does as much as both of them?) Is it...

You know, I sometimes wonder why they have multiple feats in these books that seem to do the exact same thing.

    Evasive Reflexes

If they are concurrent, wouldn't this mean that you still get hit at the same time as the sidestep, therefore making Evasive Reflexes/Karmic Strike useless since you still take damage? Gosh, who thought about making RAW painful to discern?
