    Why D&D is like pron <joke thread>

    29. Some people just like the pictures. 30. Some people like the funny voices. 31. Some people want to see spiked chains. 32. Some people demand tentacles.

Nope. It's there for the 1-round-in-3 when you cannot use a ToB maneuver because you're recharging them. Don't let fear of monsters turn you into a monster yourself. If you see him pulling out the uber-munchkin tricks, and you feel that your dude is entirely useless in combat, you come back...

    Why D&D is like pron <joke thread>

    13. Some people stay with the same game for decades, while others get bored and try new game after new game. 14. It works best with a small, stable group. The larger the group, the harder it becomes to coordinate and meet everyone's needs. 15. Some people think about it waaaaaay more than is...

Do you want the best choice, or do you want something good enough that's compatible with your character concept? Also: wolves don't get claw attacks, and neither do humans, so it's kinda strange that hybrid wolf/humans are supposed to get claws. I'd find it more plausible to use a hybrid form...

Gliese 581g - A Tidally Locked DnD World

Airships could go in either direction (Sunward or Nightward) by changing altitude, or they could do something they can't do in our world: move perpendicular to the winds, using one atmospheric layer as the "keel" layer and the other as the "sail" layer. Airships would be more flexible...

Gliese 581g - A Tidally Locked DnD World

Mmm. I'm not so sure. Cloud albedo might be sufficient to generate unpredictable weather, or at least weather patterns. So far the proposed weather model has cold air being drawn from the dark-side to replace rising air heated by the sun on the light-side. This means we have a planet-wide layer...

The issue with wizards and sorcerers

... except for Contingency, remember? Also Wizards have spells like Skittish Nerves to instantly boost their Initiative, if they find it to be lacking. Anyway, in my experience Fighters etc. are outclassed by spellcasters. Hell, the Druid's animal companion is better at melee than a Fighter at...

Man what? - Higher Str - Claws or Bite - Regeneration (fast healing 2) You can decide to grow some fur if that makes you happy. Changeling is good like that. Look at the list of weapons of the Tiger Claw discipline. Cheers, -- N

    good wizard builds

Wizard is a very flexible class. What do you want to be able to do with it? Also, who else is in your party? One interesting, unusual build would be Abjurer 3 / Master Specialist 10 / Initiate of the Sevenfold Veil 7. You can then take Archmage levels at Epic. Cheers, -- N

Yup. Again, yup. Warshaper can be abused like crazy. It's on you as a player to not abuse it. For this build, though, where he's trying to emulate a hybrid werewolf, it seems to make some sense. If he's using claws as his natural weapon, he's not gaining bonus attacks over what he'd get with...

ToB query: HD and Initiator level

It was intended to be balanced, but it wasn't: LA generally sucks. That's got nothing to do with intention. It's just not a good enough mechanic. Not really. Changeling qualifies per RAW. There was some debate over whether it was intended to work. Cheers, -- N

ToB query: HD and Initiator level

Yes, LA is crippling, and it's supposed to be crippling, since it's there to compensate for stuff you can't normally have. I'm not a huge fan of playing LA races (ever). I'd suggest you consider a Shifter (from Eberron, they get something not unlike hybrid form), or ... Consider a Changeling...

    archmage or magister?

Oh dear. I don't know if you can get from Wizard | Sorcerer to "uber". I'd recommend taking either Wizard or Sorcerer and then reading up on the one you like best.

    Why D&D is like pr0n

I suddenly realize I'm not a card-carrying gamer... no wait, I played Savage Worlds last week, and that uses cards. I feel confident that if I were to dismiss Jenga out of hand without having any experience using it, I'd have plenty of company. Pseudo-random numbers are for pseudo-real gamers...

    Why D&D is like pr0n

Agree. And IMHO one can be a detriment even if one's PC is fairly optimal. There are plenty of ways to waste table-time unproductively that have nothing to do with whether you hit or miss an attack. It's true. Gamers like dice. Cheers, -- N

    Why D&D is like pr0n

The experience that BAD roleplayers do add to everyone's fun?! I'm part of "everyone", and your assertion is just plain wrong. I do hear "man would you HURRY UP with your turn already?" The issue I'm raising isn't "why do they waste their time?", it's rather "why won't they stop wasting OUR...
