Pathfinder 1E Pathfinder Online MMORPG Announced

At this point, they're probably thinking of a quarter, with a +/- 2-3 quarter splash radius. Brad

    How did you get started?

My parents first learned that I could read when my mom saw me reading a Star Wars storybook by myself. I also read a lot of the Marvel Star Wars comics, some of which, thinking back, were pretty darn sophisticated. The first book book I got myself was the Chronicles of Narnia, bought with...

DMs: What are your character pet peeves?

Or ask questions and find out how to make it work. Mostly, I'd like people to be able to contribute at any point. Not necessarily all be the best at everything, of course, but at least be able to sort of contribute/back up. In Shadowrun, they should be able to do *something* in a fight, and...

    Has WotC hit its stride?

I could live without an AP2, or maybe an AP2 that didn't have wizard builds. But I'd love me some more sorcerer and avenger builds. Long time, even. Brad

This guy has Heroes of the Feywild.

+1/tier, same as the other new Expertise feats. And it's untyped, so it stacks with Weapon Focus, Dwarven Weapon Expertise, and Goliath Greatweapon Prowess. Interestingly, it also stacks with Spear Expertise, as both bonuses are untyped, and therefore stack. Brad

    Brinkmanship

I like to threaten to key the DMs' cars. Now that I'm GMing a Shadowrun game, I threaten their characters with headshots. One of the DMs even cooperated with this by playing the party mage, which gives me an excuse to actually focus fire him. (Of course, all this is in good fun...I'm still...

    Bonus Feats as Treasure

That seems fine. I think it'd go especially well with survivability feats, too. Brad

    Runepriest help!

Hrm. With feats, there's: Not that that's very much. I don't see any attack powers that do that. And, frankly, it's not like runepriests are going to be likely to overheal much. There was a belt that allowed you to keep overhealing as tHP. I forget the name. Brad

What do your PCs do with prisoners?

Also, asking the players to both take prisoners and dispose of them properly while simultaneously making sure that they do not have time to take a break from the dungeon else the Big Bad's nefarious plans will inevitably succeed will usually result in the prisoners getting the shaft. If there...

What's the most useless abilities in the game?

I think the *intent* is to let you get your Oath double roll even while those are adjacent. The problem is the wording of "only enemy." Obviously, target can be multiples, but it's hard to get around "only enemy." Brad

Why Do You Play Evil Characters?

I don't. I might play an a$$hole, but not to the point of actually being evil. Unaligned is great in 4e that way. Brad

What do your PCs do with prisoners?

Depends. Some are let go, some are recruited (unlikely, but has happened), some are given a trial and executed, some are executed in a state of grace, and some realized we were done with them when the avenger gave them a lobotomy with her axe. (If you behead them, they might survive for a...

Dragon 404 - Character Themes - Samurai and Yakuza

It's funny, the Samurai is a good match for a rogue, and a Yakuza is a good match for a paladin. Brad

    Are feats the problem?

I'm kind of in your boat, Mirtek. I really prefer things to disappear into the calculation so I can get on with play and not remember "dammit, I coulda done that two rounds ago!" This applies more to item daily powers, but I tend to choose bake-in feats over much more fiddly ones. One thing...

What is the point of glass steel?

Looks cool, too, especially if you make some sort of Holy sword with it. Brad

    Monk Basics is up!

Hrm, looking again at Piercing Palm, it's really only useful for a monk who's eschewing light blades, or a thief, because most rogue powers specify that they need to be used with a light blade, hand crossbow, or a sling. Very, VERY useful for a thief. Original rogue? Not so much. Brad

Move and then charge, or *only* charge in a round?

The reason you're not finding anything saying you can't is because there's no problem with Move then Charge. Ask your player to point out the specific written entry where it says you can't move before a charge. Odds are he's putting words into the rule that aren't actually there. Brad

    Monk Basics is up!

Hrm. I kinda like the Master of the Fist feat. Never being without a weapon is pretty handy. I do think that Piercing Palm should allow the rogue to treat their Unarmed Strike as a Light Blade; that would synergize better with both ORogue and Thief and existing Light Blade feats, though that...

    WoW Imitates 4e?

If I recall correctly, the Diablo box RPG was the first place where we found what'd become D&D 3e's feats. Also, the MoP talent system looks very much like the Diablo 3 skill tree, which also has the "fewer but much more meaningful choices" thing going. The difference is with the WoW trees...

World of Warcraft: Mists of Pandaria announced

One of the things that came out of Blizzcon is confirmation that Pandaren were *almost* introduced in TBC as the Alliance race, instead of Draenei. There had been rumors to that effect, mostly from a gaming magazine's reports of seeing a lot of Pandaren concept art in the Blizzard offices...
