Drums of War HD for iPad now available

Monsters and NPCs are all in the Compendium as well. Why not let us add them to our Encounters in DoW directly from there? That's all anybody wants - an actual export shouldn't be necessary for something so simple that would enhance functionality so much.

Dragon 401 & Dungeon 192 ToC Are Up

A character theme that uses Fortune Cards seems questionable, but the Class Acts: Assassin is very promising. Wonder if it will provide options for both the Executioner and Oassassin? New Daelkyr in Dungeon is very exciting! I love Far Realm horrors.

    Whoa there, Sparky!

A dragon sorcerer using his breath weapon every turn in exchange for minor damage (between 1 and 4) is pretty cool, flavorwise, and at low levels is decently powerful. Obviously it's not something to do at level 30.

    Whoa there, Sparky!

So if you were to take a Lightning Dagger, and stab yourself in the arm with it as a MBA, you could potentially use dragon's breath every turn. Huh.

    Whoa there, Sparky!

Battleminds get some early lightning powers - Conductive Defense in particular is very good, an at-will targeting reflex at level 1, and Lightning Rush is arguably one of the more broken interrupts out there. There's also a heroic-tier feat which makes any critical hit with a lightning power...

    Scoundrel Rogue Playtest Up

Of course I would, but Rogues at present have a virtual monopoly on everything assassins are supposed to do. Cunning Sneak is an extraordinarily powerful ability attached to a class that already gets a lot of extraordinarily powerful abilities.

    Scoundrel Rogue Playtest Up

Have to admit I was rather hoping for some kind of nerf to Cunning Sneak. Not urgently desiring, but hoping. Rogues being fantastic at stealth, mobility, and damage makes playing assassins (executioner or oassassin) pretty unsatisfying.

    Rule of Three: 06/27/2011

Honestly, not a fan of the full discipline mechanic (or the monk in general really) at all. I love the other psionic classes though.

I like it. I might be biased though, because the second question was mine.

    Battle Cleric Options is up

The way the builder works right now, it will probably still show you the math for the weapons you can't use with the power. This is definitely the case with my bastard sword executioner, whose Poisoned Dagger power requires a dagger. It still shows me the math at the top of the card for my...

    Battle Cleric Options is up

Okay... I still don't get why it's "irksome". One less feat taken up by something previously considered essential.

    Battle Cleric Options is up

I don't really get what the big issue is - that the powers require a simple weapon and subsequently buff it up (with +1 to hit and +damage) effectively removes a feat tax that would otherwise go towards getting the cleric a superior weapon for comparable damage or accuracy. I can see the point...

My Brawler Fighter and how fellow players complain

It doesn't seem to have been the actual DM who complained, though, but one of the other players. To the OP: I'm curious as to whether your fighter consistently outperforms the other characters on the board, specifically that of the person who complained? We had an issue like this once, where...

My Brawler Fighter and how fellow players complain

I had a DM once who had us fight in meticulously clean dungeons, because he didn't like the idea of us being able to pick up and throw a rock at any given creature. Of course, playing in our campaigns, he's always the first to grab for random debris to throw. Some people are just ridiculous.

Dragon 400: Nerathi Legends: The Iron Wolf Barbarians

Yeah, I love this article and the associated theme. Just awesome stuff, and hopefully indicative of the design direction going forward.

    A new Theme with power-swaps!

This is actually really, really awesome. Showcases how themes can add to any kind of character in a practical way, and gives me some hope for more power-swap themes in future. Really, really awesome.

What do I need to run DS?

DDI is excellent for another reason, too - the "Eye on Dark Sun" articles which have generally been excellent and serve as a wonderful supplement to the DSCS. You'll definitely want either MM3 or Monster Vault. Combined with the "thematic" options near the back of the Dark Sun Creature...

    Rule of Three 20/6/11

I'm betting they got the first question months ago (as in, when Ro3 first started) and held onto it knowing they could say "We are!" if they published it now. That said, I had wondered if the Keith Baker article was a one-shot or regular. I'm glad it'll be regular.
