Sanity loss and magic I think that losing sanity for the use of magic is a little bit over done as well.Even for an arcane magic user.Think of Merlin, he was seen as the second most wise man in the world for a thousand years.I was always taught in D&D that wizards were supposed to be wise just...- Armin

Alternative magic ideas
The brokenness of magic spells I found a spell online that seemed very powerful to me.It was called arcane blast.It was a level 7 spell which caused 100 points of damage at a single target and the caster forgot all of his spells.I haven't gotten around to playing much Dungeons and Dragons, so...- Armin
