Dear Wizards of the Coast blog post...

Saying "it is unlikely" is hardly presenting something as fact.

    Cleric-y Fighters (or Fighter-y Clerics)

You're making some very big assumptions about how mix-and-match-able the abilities of the 2 playtest clerics are.

    D&D 5E What should be in the "retro" module for 5e . . .

Ghouls do +10 damage to gnomes.

D&D is not a supers game.

You didn't answer my question, though; why is it not OK for the thing you want to just be an option? "Make my way the default or I refuse to buy this" doesn't feel like feedback, it feels like an ultimatum.

    Bounded Accuracy L&L

Er, characters in 5e will also do and take more damage as they gain more levels.

D&D 5E I'll Be Happy With the Next Play-Test Packet If..

The OP's list is almost entirely things I don't want them wasting a lot of time on. Cut every corner you can to get us new crunch to test, WotC. I want new, glorious, well-written, interesting fluff in the final book but that's not what this is about.

I want to see one book

I want dozens of books, but I'll settle for 3 to start.

    How should humans be human?

Not quite. AS tough as dwarves, etc., with something extra on top of that. EDIT: And of course this is only starting out anyway. If we can more or less expect everyone to eventually top out at 20 in their main stat (can we? I don't think we know yet) the difference becomes less striking.

D&D 5E My New 5E Raise Dead Spell

Yeah I think that kind of thing is probably a good compromise.

In the heat of battle, is hit point loss a wound?

I voted Peanut Butter Jelly Time, by which I mean it is whatever I feel like describing it as at the time.

D&D 5E What do you want to see as the 5e Iconics?

In most of the art they have a purple/blue tinge, yes. They're certainly nothing anywhere in the vicinity of a realistic human skintone; even I who am color-blind cannot imagine a scenario in which a realistically-drawn person of African descent would resemble typical drow art in skin color.

Dear Wizards of the Coast blog post...

I have a ton of the old ESD pdfs so I can talk about them some. They're... semi-OCRed. I can cut and paste some text in some of them but it frequently skips lines/words/etc. when I try to select sections. They do also have section bookmarks... mostly. These are very uneven in...

D&D 5E What do you want to see as the 5e Iconics?

I don't know any purple-skinned people of any ethnic background, so I'm relatively sure this would be easily accomplished.

D&D 5E My New 5E Raise Dead Spell

I don't care for resurrection rules that are too disruptive to narrative flow, and long recovery times do just that. Perma-death rules are also pretty bad from that perspective. I don't have a problem with high costs, or long-lasting (but still temporary) penalties, but 'make a new character' is...

D&D 5E Poll on the Reaper: is damage on missed melee attack roll believable and balanced?

I'm also fairly certain he's wrong, at least in the context of a game that will have an online character builder. It is pretty easy for me to tell my players 'don't take that feat' and not nearly so easy for me to get my homemade feat into the official builder.

    How should humans be human?

MERP had inferior humans as an option; to my knowledge nobody in the history of the world ever played one. ;)

    How should humans be human?

I want humans to be the default; mechanically to me this means they should be good enough that if a player comes in without a specific concept in mind for the character, she'll gravitate towards picking human. What we've heard so far seems to encourage this, so I am tentatively happy; I am...

D&D is not a supers game.

The part of all this discussion I don't understand is why having one's preferred method of play in the game as an option isn't good enough. It has to be the default or the game is ruined forever. There is probably no house rule in the game that is easier to make than starting PC hit points, in...

D&D 5E What do you want to see as the 5e Iconics?

I like iconics. I'd like to see a wider ethnic mix in general from them.

    D&D 5E I Don't Like Damage On A Miss

Everyone does get to do X flavor-wise; it is just that in the case of the average adventurer, X rounds down to zero. Mechanically things can only get so granular before they become annoying to play.
