For Adventures, you might want to check the free downloads here or at other rpg sites for adventure ideas or examples.
Maybe use something that grows in the dark, like mushrooms, as the basis for the ecosystem. Also don't forget plant life growing in the oceans producing oxygen. Geothermal vents and lava flows could also come into play.

As a DM, handling a PC noble depends on how the person is playing that character. Is the pc advertising his heritage or trying to hide it? As others have pointed out, there are benefits and drawbacks to both.
Rogue = stealth, traps, supplemental melee/ranged damage possible face of the party with good Cha.
Warlock = extra firepower/creative spells to supplement Wizard, possible face of the party.
Most of the countries are pretty segregated. The capitals have some minority populations. The only really non-segregated places are the trade guild cities.

I allow neutral, but not evil pcs in my campaigns. IME, people who enjoy running anti-social, greedy and selfish characters tend to not play well with others.
