D&D 5E Minimum ability scores for a PC

We generally roll once, but have a standard array as a backup. So, if you don't like what you rolled you can opt to take the array instead.

Delve DEEP into DUNGEONS with Pathfinder's Latest Miniatures Set!

You can buy the singles from the Paizo website store when they come out. Not sure on whether or not you'd get a better price elsewhere though.

D&D 5E PHB already with a broken spine

Umm..'throwing the book' at your players is not meant to be taken literally.;) JK Seriously though, the books have seemed to be getting more and more fragile over the years. Asking for a replacement when it falls apart after 3-4 months of use is not out of line.

    D&D 5E Odd weapons...

...Yeah, I can see where you are going. I'd still have to disagree with the d6 damage rating in the book. We're not talking about hundreds or thousands of very short points to spread the force out over. We're talking three very long points driven sharply through the body. We're also talking...

    D&D 5E Odd weapons...

..Yes, IMO the trident needs to be fixed. It originally evolved as a fishing implement. As such, there's no reason not to make it a simple weapon. Second, with multiple piercing tines it should do more damage. Third, as a weapon that can be effectively wielded in one, or both, hands it...

D&D 5E Druids and metal armor

Several previous editions had armors made using stone. That might be pretty cool for a dwarven druid. Dwarven druids maybe the exception to that metal armor rule. I could see it if you were running a rock/mountain/underground type of druid.

As a GM, How Often Do You Fudge Dice Rolls?

I usually roll behind the screen. It keeps some of the mystery alive. Players are pretty quick at determining monster AC's and saves viewing rolls in the open. In addition, every once in a while I'll find that an encounter was designed a bit too tough so I might fudge the bad guys' rolls...

    Names

...Do an online search of toponomy, or place names. I.e. English place names. There are a lot of good sites out there with examples. Even wikipedia is decent. They also usually have good links under the See Also section...

    D&D 5E Evaluating the warlord-y Fighter

This reminds me of the old Dragon magazine cartoon with the older dragon suffering from "scale pattern baldness";)

D&D 5E Yuan-Ti player race - how would you build one?

This may not be strong enough for what your looking for, but this is a conversion based on a home-brewed model I did earlier. Yuan-Ti: Ability Score Increase: Dex. +2, Cha. or Int. +1 Alignment: Most are neutral evil Size: Medium Speed: 30 feet Darkvision: 60 feet Advantage: on poison...

D&D 5E Can characters give themselves Horrible Scar?

Like others have stated, it doesn't necessarily have to be the result of an injury. Many early cultures engaged in ritual scarification. There's no reason that a barbarian, or primitive, tribe in an rpg couldn't have massive scars which celebrate their accomplishments, their status in the...

    Other gamers with young kids

I think the greater focus here is bringing the wives so yours has someone to visit with. I'd try to get two or three other wives to come along. You could then include 1 or 2 single folks. Maybe count on 1 or 2 other children max. I don't know if I would go full bore on getting 4 or 5 couples...

    Other gamers with young kids

It really depends on the age of the children. The younger the children, the less likely the parents are to game. Many give it up for a few years until the kids are older. I have gamed with folks who have included their kids in the campaign. Usually they are around seven or eight and the...

D&D 5E what would you play?

...I also enjoy playing stealthy characters, mainly rangers and rogues. But from time to time, depending upon the party's needs, I have played tanks. None of them have ever been "big dumb tanks". Most of the time, they are experts in combat strategy. They tactically manage the battlefield...

D&D 5E what would you play?

You might want to go variant human and pick up the extra feat. If you choose that option, make sure that you pick up the Light cantrip.

D&D 5E what would you play?

...Yeah, IME paladins tend to be best in parties that accept their leadership skills. But hey, at least if you're playing the tank you can argue that they'd better listen to your input given that you're the one keeping the monsters off their backs long enough so they can do their casting thing...

D&D 5E what would you play?

Given that your party already has two divine magic casters, I'd go the fighter route. Then you can play the tank and maybe grab a couple of offensive and buff spells. Unless you want to be the charismatic face of the party. Your party already has 3 casters and one rogue/fighter. A tank or...
